HSE and Facilities Specialist
Summary
The HSE and Facilities Specialist supports the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs and oversees routine building maintenance activities across assigned sites. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, and ensures that facilities are maintained in a safe, functional, and compliant condition. The Specialist works closely with site personnel and the HSE Manager to identify risks, conduct audits, implement corrective actions, and deliver safety training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
HSE Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing HSE policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Maintain HSE documentation, including training records, inspection reports, and regulatory filings.
- Monitor and report on key HSE metrics and performance indicators.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities, including drills and equipment checks.
- Promote employee engagement in HSE initiatives and serve as a resource for HSE-related questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety Training Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Maintain training schedules and ensure timely completion of required safety courses.
- Track and document training attendance and certifications.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Ensure training materials are up to date with current regulations and company policies.
- Support onboarding safety orientation for new hires.
Facilities Maintenance Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair work, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, service schedules, and vendor contracts.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, fire safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Manage facility-related service providers and contractors to ensure timely and quality service.
- Support space planning, office moves, and facility upgrades as needed.
- Respond to facility-related emergencies and coordinate appropriate response actions.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Facilities Management, or related field preferred. Two plus years of experience in an HSE, safety training, or facilities maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, building codes, and maintenance best practices.
Due to government regulations and contract specifications, we are required to fill this position only with an individual who qualifies as a U.S. Citizen.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
- Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance/able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Able to reach overhead.
- Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
- Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
- Full range of motion with both hands.
- Can work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.
