Senior Analyst, External Reporting

The Role 

As a Senior Analyst in External Reporting at GTI, you will play a pivotal role in the financial reporting process, focusing on the preparation and review of internal and external financial statements. Operating within our fast-growing, publicly traded company, you will support technical accounting functions and contribute to consolidated and regulatory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and review Form 10-Q, 10-K, and quarterly earnings releases, including financial statements (balance sheet and income statement), footnote disclosures, and management discussion and analysis (MD&A). 
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial schedules that underpin financial statements and footnote disclosures. 
  • Ensure compliance with SEC reporting rules through accurate and timely filing of required documents. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address accounting and reporting issues, and review financial statements, footnotes, and other pertinent matters. 
  • Research and draft technical accounting memos to resolve accounting issues and appropriately handle new transactions. 
  • Support financial accounting and reporting activities related to annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment analyses and conclusions. 
  • Maintain effective internal controls over the financial reporting process to ensure compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404). 
  • Assist in preparing purchase accounting entries for acquisitions and evaluating variable interest entities. 
  • Work closely with General Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Legal, Tax, and Investor Relations teams to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and earnings releases. 
  • Contribute to the monthly corporate close process, ensuring results align with US GAAP and GTI policies. 
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to streamline consolidations and external reporting processes.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. 
  • CPA preferred. 
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably from Big 4 or similar firms, with both public and in-house experience. 
  • Strong technical accounting skills in GAAP and public company reporting requirements. 
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities. 
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and capable of working independently or collaboratively, demonstrating sound judgment, common sense, and resourcefulness. 
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong critical thinking skills. 
  • Upholds a high level of professionalism and integrity, especially when handling confidential information. 
  • Must understand and comply with Green Thumb's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • A solid understanding of cannabis laws, rules, and regulations, with a passion for expanding knowledge of the industry and its legal landscape.

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must possess valid driver’s license 
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age 
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.

Green Thumb Pay Range

$80,000 - $100,000 USD
