Accounting Director - Agrify

The Role

The Director of Agrify Accounting is responsible for direct supervision of all operational accounting and financial functions surrounding the monthly financial close and reporting processes. This role is responsible for Technical Accounting, Financial Statements and Public Filings, managing the Audit Process as well as the managerial oversight of General Accounting, Treasury, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. The ideal candidate must possess strong business acumen with the ability to effectively implement and automate accounting processes and address both financial and operational challenges. The role will have hands on leadership over a team that is responsible for all core operational accounting functions. 

Responsibilities

  • Directs the company’s general accounting activities in accordance with US GAAP and company policy 
  • Oversees the core operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives 
  • Oversee the cash forecasting process as well as company’s banking management relationships 
  • Leads the month-end close process 
  • Responsible for technical accounting analysis, memos and implementation of new accounting standards 
  • Ensures a proper system of internal controls is established and maintained 
  • Ensures implementation of requisite system changes to support the business units and new programs 
  • Ensures new accounting policies are established, communicated and implemented timely 
  • Continually analyzes existing processes and procedures making efficiency improvements 
  • Leads the external audit and review process 
  • Partners with FP&A team to support the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages 
  • Manages, mentors, coaches, and develops accounting employees through orientation, training, goal setting and communication while ensuring team engagement and morale 
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, and providing recommendations to improve financial performance.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 10+ years of related experience, including significant experience supervising/managing an accounting department; CPA required 
  • Blend of public and private industry experience particularly in a public company, SOX controlled environment 
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP with expertise accounting policies, procedures and internal controls 
  • Experience building financial management infrastructure including systems implementation 
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment 
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally 
  • Possesses a high level of critical thinking and attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry 

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.

Green Thumb Pay Range

$145,000 - $165,000 USD
