Commercial Garage Door - Technician

As a New Door Installer, you will be expected to adhere to the Garage Door Medics Oath and Customer Service Values, ensuring every installation upholds our commitment to professionalism, quality, and outstanding customer service.
Position Overview:
This position focuses on the professional installation of residential garage doors while maintaining strong attention to parts verification, site cleanliness, and proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Site Management
- Install new garage doors, and garage door panels and openers according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Pick up new doors from designated suppliers or warehouse prior to the scheduled installation.
- Dispose of old doors safely and responsibly according to company and local disposal guidelines.
- Confirm all parts are accounted for before arriving at the installation site to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Take comprehensive before, during, and after photos of each project for customer records and quality assurance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring the customer’s property is respected and left cleaner than found.
Pre-Installation & Planning
- Review job tickets and customer details thoroughly before each job.
- Verify measurements, product details, and installation requirements.
- Communicate with the warehouse, suppliers, or office if parts or materials are missing or incorrect.
- Conduct a final on-site review with the customer to confirm the scope of work before starting installation.
Customer Interaction & Documentation
- Communicate professionally and courteously with customers throughout the installation process.
- Review door operation and maintenance with the customer after installation is complete.
- Collect customer signatures and complete any necessary end-of-job forms.
- Submit all required documentation, including installation reports and photo logs, at the end of each project.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Garage Door Medics safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a strong focus on workplace safety standards.
- Maintain company vehicle and tools in clean, working condition.
Requirements:
- Previous experience installing residential or commercial garage doors is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, technical drawings, and measurement specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use a tablet to document work and communicate with the office.
- Comfortable lifting heavy materials, using hand and power tools, and working at heights.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to learn and follow company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
