THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring an Internal Controls Manager for our Global Risk & Controls team in Brazil!!

The Global Risk & Controls team is looking for an Internal Controls Manager to oversee and enhance our internal control framework, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of our operations. This person will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, performing tests of controls, closely collaborating with process owners and the IT team to strengthen the company's control environment in support of SOX compliance. 

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in internal controls and risk management, along with a proven track record of implementing effective compliance strategies.

While this is a Manager-level position, it does not involve team management. Instead, you will operate as a high-impact Individual Contributor, owning critical initiatives and collaborating closely with senior stakeholders across teams.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive internal control framework aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and document existing internal controls and processes, identifying improvement and risk mitigation areas.
  • Collaborate to establish, monitor, and enhance ITGC, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the company's information systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop control strategies to address potential vulnerabilities related to financial reporting and operations.
  • Lead internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls; work with cross-functional teams to implement recommended improvements.
  • Perform Test of Design and Effectiveness to ensure thorough evaluations of controls, identifying potential gaps and recommending necessary enhancements. 
  • Provide training and guidance to staff regarding internal controls, compliance, and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors on the status of internal controls and compliance efforts.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR, ISO 27001).

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal controls, auditing, or compliance, preferably in a public company environment.
  • Strong familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and internal control frameworks and regulations (e.g., COSO, COBIT, SOX).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various functions.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and hands-on with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in  Internal Audit and a BIG 4 background is a plus.
  • Experience with IT environment and controls is a plus.
