Role Scope:
We are looking for a dynamic, service-oriented Activities Aide who is passionate about supporting elderly persons in their journey. The Activities Aide will work to support a multidisciplinary care team led by a primary care provider to ensure whole-person, integrated care. Also, this role will support the company’s activities program.
Core Responsibilities & Expectations for the Role
- Under the direction of the Recreational Therapist or Activities Coordinator, this position will support the planning, coordination, and facilitation of daily activity programs designed to enhance the physical, cognitive, and social well-being of participants.
- Assist in implementing recreational, therapeutic, and social activities aligned with individual interests, abilities, and care plans.
- Engage participants in group and one-on-one activities, fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment.
- Monitor participant engagement and respond to changing needs, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (e.g., nursing, social services, therapy) to support holistic care and participant experience.
- Prepare activity materials, set up and clean up activity spaces, and maintain organization of supplies and equipment.
- Document participation, progress, and any notable observations in accordance with organizational policies.
- Encourage independence and participation while providing appropriate assistance as needed.
- Support special events, outings, and community-based activities as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA compliance.
- Build positive relationships with participants, families, and team members, contributing to a respectful and team-oriented culture.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, participant-centered environment.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- One year's experience supporting a social or recreational program that coordinates and provides services for a frail or elderly population.
- A minimum of two year's experience working with the frail or elderly.
- Working knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and behavioral needs of the elderly population.
- Demonstrate creative abilities to support planning, development, and implementation of varied activities to meet diverse needs.
- Must have excellent skills in verbal and written communication, listening, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
- Displays sensitivity, compassion, and respect for people of diverse cultures.
- Proof of medical clearance for communicable diseases, including a TB test.
- Proof of all immunizations are up to date.
- Proof of current CPR/BLS certification required or requirement to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Proof of valid CA driver’s license, personal transportation, good driving record and auto insurance as required by State law.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual: Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred.
- Education or training in geriatrics and dementia programming preferred, good working knowledge of dementia disease process.
- A state issued driver’s license, personal transportation, and auto insurance as required by law.

Compensation:
We consider an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, participation in the company’s equity program, and paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The expected salary range for this position is $22- $25 per hour. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
