Role Overview
Hanover Dublin is looking for a Senior Consultant (Senior Account Manager equivalent) to play a pivotal role in supporting the team’s continued growth.
As a Senior Consultant, you will bring strong political, policy and communications expertise, paired with excellent project management skills and the confidence to advise clients in fast-moving political and media environments. You will lead the day-to-day delivery of high-quality work, provide strategic counsel and manage complex client workstreams to ensure outputs meet Hanover’s standards of excellence.
You will work across a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, technology, financial services, energy and mobility, while also contributing to new business development through research, strategic input and participation in pitches.
This role is suited to someone who thrives in an agency environment, is comfortable working at pace, and is motivated by the opportunity to shape client strategies, mentor junior colleagues and support the continued expansion of Hanover Dublin.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, timely and strategic advice on political, policy and regulatory developments.
- Identify the most effective engagement approaches for clients and advise on how to navigate Irish political processes.
- Draft and review policy briefings, consultation responses, parliamentary materials and stakeholder analysis.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Oireachtas members, policymakers, and key stakeholders.
- Lead the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement activity, including events, briefings and interviews.
- Analyse media developments to identify risks and opportunities for clients.
- Develop proactive and reactive media strategies, advice and materials including press releases and messaging.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, contributing confidently to meetings and discussions.
- Manage projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget and to the highest possible standard.
- Ensure rigorous quality control across all outputs, with a strong commitment to accuracy and detail.
- Identify opportunities to expand client programmes and support cross-selling across the business.
- Contribute proactively to new business activities, including research, proposal writing, brainstorms and pitches.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working in public affairs, policy, corporate communications or a related field, ideally within an agency, in-house or government environment.
- Strong understanding of the Irish political, regulatory and media landscape.
- Experience within the energy and mobility sector (desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling, high-quality content.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and workstreams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience, with confidence engaging with policymakers, journalists and senior clients.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, bringing proactive solutions to client challenges.
- Experience planning and delivering stakeholder or media events.
