Job title – Software Test Engineer

Job duties – Validate software for electric vehicles. Design, troubleshoot, and maintain test systems. Model
electro-mechanical systems and control algorithms in Simulink. Author software requirements derived from
system level specifications. Author test cases against software requirements for unit and integration tests.
Document software issues uncovered by HiL and Vehicle testing for resolution. Manage promotion of vehicle
software packages to release status. Write test scripts for automated testing. Develop controls algorithms for
code generation. Up to 10% domestic/international travel.

Education and Experience required – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field and 5 years of experience in automotive software
testing.

Background – 5 years of experience with Simulink, Stateflow, and Mathworks. 5 years of experience with
software test development and automation. 5 years of experience writing software requirements and test
plans using PLM tools including Polarion, DOORS, or Jama. 5 years of experience with vehicle communication
technologies including CAN, CAN-FD, and Automotive Ethernet. 5 years of experience with automotive
industry test hardware including the following: dSpace, vTest Studio, and Typhoon. 5 years of experience with
electric vehicle propulsion systems including torque path controls, motor controls, high voltage systems, and
system derate strategies. 4 years of experience with test case automation tools including Tracetronic ecu.test.
2 years of experience developing embedded controls algorithms for electric vehicle systems. 2 years of
experience with code-generation using Mathworks embedded coder.


Location – Garden Grove, CA
Rate of pay – $137,000 - $160,000 per year
