A Day in the Life of a Sr. Manager Demand Planning
- You will generate and maintain an 18–24-month phased demand forecast, collaborating on baseline creation, reconciling enrichments, and publishing the final consensus forecast. You will own the monthly Demand Review (DMR) pre-alignment cycle — preparing Brand leaders, securing forecast approval, defining risks and opportunities, and documenting demand drivers and assumptions. The forecast is developed by analyzing Shipment (Sell-In), POS (Sell-Out), market share, cannibalization, and other commercial signals, all within the global forecasting calendar and planning process. You will proactively communicate demand changes to supply planning and work through service and inventory impacts.
- You will partner with Sales & Marketing to evaluate promotional impact on demand, using post-evaluation analysis to quantify uplift. This includes challenging or validating forward-looking overlays for new launches, promotions, price changes, seasonal spikes, and entertainment windows, with forecast enrichment quality measured via Forecast Value Add (FVA).
- Data quality is the foundation of everything we do. You will collaborate with statistical modelers on baseline creation and validation (including ML/LLM techniques), conduct historical data cleansing, and perform weekly integrity checks on the demand signal passed to supply chain.
- You will own Demand Management metrics (FVA, Forecast Mix Error, Forecast Bias), lead root cause analysis, and drive improvement with brand and sales teams — continuously refining cross-functional routines across Marketing, Sales, and Supply/Demand Planning to optimize supply chain performance and customer experience.
- You will work closely with planning leadership, Brand teams, Sales, Supply Planning, and Finance. Externally, you will partner with DP service partners such as Genpact.
