Sr. Animatronics / Robotics Engineer

Purpose of Role
We are seeking an exceptionally skilled Sr. Animatronics Engineer to translate creative concepts into mechanical reality. This role is perfect for a versatile professional who thrives on animating still objects by seamlessly integrating motorized motion, electronics, firmware, and software synchronization. You will coordinate the entire production cycle of animatronic or robotic products—from concept development, specifications, modeling, and mechatronic assembly, to CAM chart preparation, firmware and software integration, and product qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical & Motion Building: Transform conceptual ideas into functional motorized or electronically controlled devices, ensuring life-like movements.
- Motion Translation: Convert multiple motions into actionable CAM charts and CAM profiles for efficient implementation.
- Electronics & Hardware Integration: Specify and integrate actuators, motors, controllers, and sensors to achieve magnificent performance.
- Firmware & Software Control: Develop and optimize firmware for real-time motor control and sensor fusion.
- Collaborate on software architecture to ensure smooth communication between high-level animation software and low-level hardware.
- Prototyping & Testing: Coordinate the fabrication, assembly, and thorough testing of prototypes to ensure adaptability and fluid motion.
Technical Requirements
- Experience: At least 5 years of professional background in robotics, animatronics, or automation. Those with greater experience may be evaluated for a Senior Engineer role.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering.
- Software Proficiency: Sophisticated skills in CAD (SolidWorks, Pro-E, or equivalent). Familiarity with real-time firmware or custom animation control software.
- Electrical Know-how: Deep understanding of different types of motors, microcontrollers, and sensors.
