Position Summary
Are you passionate about helping sales teams ramp faster, sell smarter, and stay sharp? The Manager, Sales Training & Development will lead the design, facilitation, and execution of high-impact sales training programs. The role’s primary focus is new hire onboarding, with additional responsibilities supporting ongoing training, skill development, and field enablement.

In this highly visible and hands-on position, you will lead onboarding classes, coach the sales team, and develop learning content that supports readiness and confidence in the field. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales and Commercial partners to ensure that training content and delivery reflect real-world needs and business goals.

This is a remote position, with up to 25% travel throughout the U.S. required.

Job Responsibilities:

New Hire Onboarding

  • Own the full lifecycle of onboarding for new hires, including program structure, content, facilitation, and follow-up
  • Serve as the primary facilitator for onboarding sessions (in-person and virtual), supported by cross-functional subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Partner with sales leadership to ensure readiness for field performance
  • Track onboarding outcomes and adjust programs based on feedback and readiness assessments

Ongoing Development & Field Readiness

  • Facilitate ongoing training sessions across topics such as objection handling, call planning, and selling
  • Support national and regional events (e.g., National Sales Meetings, Quarterly trainings) with aligned content and facilitation
  • Gather feedback and learning needs from field to shape future programs

 Content Development & Enablement

  • Develop training content and tools tailored to commercial needs
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure content accuracy and alignment with training strategy, learner needs and business goals.
  • Adapt content for live and digital delivery to support scalable learning
  • Contribute to the creation of digital learning modules and interactive content

Field Collaboration & Trainer Alignment

  • Translate training into applicable field-relevant tools
  • Reinforce messaging, competitive positioning, and objection handling in collaboration with Sales and Commercial partners.
  • Support pull-through of product launches, market expansion and strategic initiatives

Skills Needed:

  • Strong facilitation skills and presence, able to lead engaging training sessions virtually and in person
  • Ability to design learning experiences based on adult learning principles
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a cross-functional mindset
  • Project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to translate business strategy into actionable, field-relevant training programs
  • Familiarity with training platforms and tools such as Absorb, ACTO, Canva, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Suite
  • Experience working with or guiding field sales trainers is a plus
  • Experience to training metrics, learning assessments and performance tracking

Educational Requirements & Work Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably business, science, education, or healthcare
  • For Manager level: 6+ years of field sales experience in healthcare, medical device, diagnostics, or related space (required), including 4+ years of experience in a training, field trainer, sales coaching, or commercial enablement role (may be concurrent with sales role)
  • For Senior Manager level: 8+ years of field sales experience in healthcare, medical device, diagnostics, or related space (required), including 6+ years of experience in a training, field trainer, sales coaching, or commercial enablement role (may be concurrent with sales role)
  • Background in cardiology, cardiovascular diagnostics, or related clinical specialties is preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally

A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $130,000-$165,000 (for Manager level) or $150,000-$185,000 (for Senior Manager level), cash bonus and equity.
