Manager, Corporate Strategy

Rohnert Park, California; San Francisco, California

Heartflow is a medical technology company advancing the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, the #1 cause of death worldwide, using cutting-edge technology. The flagship product—an AI-driven, non-invasive cardiac test supported by the ACC/AHA Chest Pain Guidelines called the Heartflow FFRCT Analysis—provides a color-coded, 3D model of a patient’s coronary arteries indicating the impact blockages have on blood flow to the heart. Heartflow is the first AI-driven non-invasive integrated heart care solution across the CCTA pathway that helps clinicians identify stenoses in the coronary arteries (RoadMap™Analysis), assess coronary blood flow (FFRCT Analysis), and characterize and quantify coronary atherosclerosis (Plaque Analysis). Our pipeline of products is growing and so is our team; join us in helping to revolutionize precision heartcare.

Heartflow is a publicly traded company (HTFL) that has received international recognition for exceptional strides in healthcare innovation, is supported by medical societies around the world, cleared for use in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, and has been used for more than 750,000 patients worldwide.

Corporate Strategy at Heartflow helps answer the company’s most important questions: where should we play, how will we win, what should we prioritize, and how should the company evolve as it scales. As Manager, Corporate Strategy, you will partner with executive leadership to shape enterprise strategy, assess new markets and portfolio opportunities, translate strategy into the long-range plan, and drive a small number of high-priority initiatives that cut across functions. You will combine rigorous analytics, strategic judgment, and executive communication to turn ambiguous questions into clear choices and action. This role is fundamentally about setting direction, sharpening choices, and helping Heartflow make better enterprise-level decisions.

Job Responsibilities

Enterprise Strategy & Portfolio Direction

  • Corporate Strategy & Long-Range Planning: Partner with executive leadership and Finance to shape Heartflow’s enterprise strategy, strategic priorities, and long-range plan, linking market opportunity, competitive position, product roadmap, financial ambition, and organizational capabilities.
  • Market, Portfolio & Adjacency Strategy: Evaluate where Heartflow should play next across products, clinical use cases, customer segments, geographies, and adjacent markets. Size opportunities, assess strategic fit and right-to-win, and develop clear recommendations on where to invest, sequence, or deprioritize.
  • Strategic Opportunity Assessment: Frame and answer high-stakes, ambiguous business questions using market research, competitive analysis, customer and clinical insights, financial modeling, and scenario analysis. Translate analysis into explicit choices, trade-offs, and recommendations.

Strategic Execution & Business Transformation

  • Priority Strategic Initiatives: Lead a small number of enterprise-wide initiatives that matter disproportionately to Heartflow’s growth and scale, moving from problem definition and strategy through cross-functional alignment, execution, and measurable outcomes.
  • Business Model & Operating Model Evolution: Identify opportunities to improve how Heartflow creates and captures value, including pricing and contracting models, customer economics, operating model, decision rights, organizational interfaces, and scalable processes.
  • Resource Allocation & Investment Prioritization: Work with Finance and functional leaders to evaluate competing uses of capital and operating resources. Build fact-based cases that help leadership prioritize investments, sequence capabilities, allocate resources across the portfolio, and make explicit stop-doing decisions.
  • Value Creation & Performance Management: Translate strategic priorities into clear objectives, milestones, owners, and measures of value. Establish practical governance and management routines that surface issues early and keep major initiatives tied to enterprise outcomes.

Decision Support & Strategic Intelligence

  • Executive & Board Decision Support: Develop strategy narratives, decision memos, and leadership and board materials that synthesize complex information into a clear strategic rationale, financial implications, key risks, and recommended path forward.
  • Competitive, Market & Industry Intelligence: Build a forward-looking view of the forces shaping Heartflow’s business, including competitors, technology, reimbursement, clinical evidence, customer behavior, and broader healthcare trends, and translate those signals into implications for strategy.
  • AI-Native Strategy Workflows: Use AI tools and LLMs to accelerate research, synthesis, analysis, scenario development, and presentation creation, and help establish modern, repeatable workflows for the strategy team.

Skills Needed

  • Exceptional structured problem-solving and strategic thinking, with the ability to deconstruct ambiguous questions, identify the critical issues, and develop clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong market, competitive, and financial analysis skills, including the ability to connect external market dynamics with internal operating and financial implications.
  • Executive-level synthesis and communication: able to distill complex analysis into crisp narratives, decision points, and recommendations for senior leadership and board audiences.
  • Advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis skills, with expert-level proficiency in spreadsheets and comfort working with imperfect information.
  • Cross-functional leadership: proven ability to influence, align, and drive work across teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong business judgment and curiosity, with a desire to develop deep knowledge of Heartflow’s products, customers, economics, competitive landscape, and the broader medical technology industry.
  • High ownership and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment where the most important questions are often not fully defined at the outset.
  • AI mindset and comfort leveraging LLMs and modern tools to improve the speed and quality of strategic work.

Educational Requirements & Work Experience

  • MBA from an accredited program (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of combined pre- and post-MBA experience in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, strategic finance, business operations, or a similarly analytical strategy role.
  • Track record of leading enterprise strategy, market or portfolio strategy, long-range planning, or other high-priority strategic initiatives from analysis through executive decision and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate market, customer, competitive, operational, and financial inputs into a coherent point of view and actionable recommendation.
  • Experience in medical device, biopharma, healthcare technology, or another complex regulated industry is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with executive teams on strategic planning, portfolio prioritization, or major cross-functional initiatives is a strong plus.
  • Comfort leading workstreams and contributing directly in meetings with executive leadership and other senior stakeholders.

Special Working Conditions

This is an on-site position:

  • San Francisco or Rohnert Park, California office
  • Moderate travel may be expected for internal planning sessions, leadership offsites, industry conferences, and select external meetings.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $160,000 to $175,000, bonus, and equity.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
