Product Manager

San Francisco, California; Rohnert Park, California

Heartflow is a medical technology company advancing the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, the #1 cause of death worldwide, using cutting-edge technology. The flagship product—an AI-driven, non-invasive cardiac test supported by the ACC/AHA Chest Pain Guidelines called the Heartflow FFRCT Analysis—provides a color-coded, 3D model of a patient’s coronary arteries indicating the impact blockages have on blood flow to the heart. Heartflow is the first AI-driven non-invasive integrated heart care solution across the CCTA pathway that helps clinicians identify stenoses in the coronary arteries (RoadMap™Analysis), assess coronary blood flow (FFRCT Analysis), and characterize and quantify coronary atherosclerosis (Plaque Analysis). Our pipeline of products is growing and so is our team; join us in helping to revolutionize precision heartcare.

Heartflow is a publicly traded company (HTFL) that has received international recognition for exceptional strides in healthcare innovation, is supported by medical societies around the world, cleared for use in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, and has been used for more than 750,000 patients worldwide.

This is a product management role for a recent MBA graduate who wants to build products that change how heart disease is diagnosed and managed. You will own a customer-facing area of the Heartflow platform: how it fits into the workflows, systems, and business of the hospitals, imaging centers, and physicians who rely on it. You will combine customer insight, business judgment, and technical curiosity to decide what we build and why, working alongside experienced product leaders who will invest in your growth. Success is measured by products our customers adopt, rely on, and recommend.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • Customer discovery: Spend time on site with cardiologists, radiologists, CT technologists, and health-system administrators to understand how CCTA programs run end to end, from referral and scan acquisition to interpretation, reporting, and follow-up. Turn what you observe into clear problem statements.
  • Workflow and integration: Define how the Heartflow platform fits into customers’ clinical and IT environments, including EMR, PACS, and reporting systems. Work with engineering to deliver integrations that reduce friction for sites and clinicians.
  • Requirements and design: Write user needs, use cases, and functional requirements for your product area. Partner with UX and Product Design on workflows and wireframes, and lead design reviews through to verifiable, shippable features.
  • Business case and prioritization: Build the business case for features and product extensions, covering market size, customer value, adoption, reimbursement considerations, and revenue impact. Use it to prioritize the roadmap with product leadership and stakeholders.
  • Delivery: Work with engineering through implementation, make scope and timing trade-offs, evaluate prototypes and builds, and prioritize defects by their impact on customers and patients.
  • Launch and adoption: Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Professional Education on launch readiness, positioning inputs, training, and onboarding. Track adoption and usage after release and feed what you learn back into the roadmap.
  • Quality and compliance: Work with Quality and Regulatory to keep requirements traceable and design history audit-ready under design controls. Evaluate every change for its effect on user error, patient safety, privacy, and security.
  • Communication: Give product leadership and cross-functional partners clear, data-backed updates on progress, customer feedback, and risk.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Business judgment: Ability to frame ambiguous problems, size opportunities, build a business case, and defend a recommendation with data and explicit reasoning.
  • Customer orientation: Real curiosity about how clinicians and hospital teams work, and a habit of grounding decisions in what you observe rather than only what people say.
  • Technical aptitude: Comfort discussing system design, data flows, and cloud software with engineers, and a willingness to learn healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
  • Healthcare interest: Genuine interest in healthcare, medical devices, or digital health. Familiarity with cardiology, medical imaging, or reimbursement is a plus.
  • Communication: Clear, concise writing and speaking for clinical, technical, and executive audiences.
  • Influence and collaboration: Ability to align cross-functional teams around a shared goal without formal authority.
  • Design and usability: A strong eye for workflow and usability, especially where product output informs clinical decisions.
  • Ownership and adaptability: A bias for action and comfort working where priorities and constraints change, within a regulated environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • MBA, recently completed or to be completed before the start date.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related technical or scientific field strongly preferred.
  • 5–7 years of professional experience before or during your MBA, for example in product management, engineering, consulting, healthcare, medical devices, or health technology.
  • A product management internship, or experience with FDA-regulated software or Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites (approximately 20%).
  • This role is on site in our San Francisco, CA or Rohnert Park, CA office.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $160,000 to $175,000, bonus, and equity

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
