What is special about this role?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Security Analyst to join our dynamic Security Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in incident response activities, analyzing security events, and documenting incident findings. Over a six-month project, you will gain valuable hands on experience in incident handling while also learning about genetics and the healthcare industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the overall security posture of our organization and expand your knowledge in these interdisciplinary fields.

As a Security Analyst, you will:
- Perform user access reviews and log reviews in accordance with our compliance programs
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing security alerts and events.
- Work closely with senior security team members to investigate and respond to security incidents.
- Participate in incident detection, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Document incident details, analysis, and resolution procedures in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain incident response documentation, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and update incident response playbooks.
- Provide timely and accurate updates to stakeholders during incident response activities.
- Actively contribute to the improvement of incident response processes and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding incident details and resolutions.
- Provide support in the investigation and resolution of security incidents and breaches.
About you:
- Recently graduated with a computer science related degree (software engineering, computer software, ect)
- Basic understanding of security principles, techniques, and technologies.
- Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and data loss prevention.
- Knowledge of network protocols and operating systems (macOS, Windows, Linux, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH) are a plus.
Pluses:
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Understanding of security principles and practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, ISO 27001).

Expected Pay For This Role:
Expected Helix monthly salary range: $36,000 MXN
The salary range above is our reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role across MX locations. Actual starting pay will be based on non-discriminatory job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about your specific work location salary range during the hiring process.
Our office is located at the WeWork - Varsovia, Mexico City
We gather intentionally in our office space once per week to work on things like pair programming/live collaboration, skillshare sessions, social segments, team lunches, and volunteering opportunities.
What To Expect During Your Onboarding Week:
We want to make sure your first week is spent learning the foundations. You will be invited to live orientation sessions and spend time with your hiring manager developing your individual roadmap to success.
