Director of Merchandising + Wholesale (Mat Leave Cover)
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and commercially minded leader to step into a hybrid role that combines Director of Merchandising oversight with Wholesale Account Executive responsibilities. This maternity leave cover position is ideal for a strategic operator who can balance high-level merchandising direction with hands-on wholesale account management. This is a Full-Time Maternity Leave Coverage, term of December 2025 – March 2026.
The successful candidate will drive product strategy, inventory planning, and in-season management while also nurturing key wholesale relationships to meet revenue and margin targets.
What You’ll Do:
Merchandising Leadership
- Develop and execute seasonal merchandise strategies aligned with brand vision, sales goals, and market opportunities.
- Lead assorting, category strategies, and product lifecycle management across all channels.
- Partner with Design, Production, Planning, and Marketing to ensure cohesive, consumer-centric line architecture.
- Analyze performance weekly/monthly to optimize buys, manage inventory, address risks, and capitalize on trends.
- Oversee pricing strategy, margin targets, product flow, and in-season reforecasting.
- Brief cross-functional teams on seasonal product stories, launches, and commercial priorities.
- Influence long-range planning, including demand forecasting, new product opportunities, and distribution strategy.
Wholesale Account Executive Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day management of key wholesale accounts (e.g., specialty, majors, international partners) in partnership with Wholesale Coordinator
- Present seasonal collections, negotiate orders, and drive sell-in to meet revenue and profitability goals.
- Manage order entry, revisions, tracking, and delivery alignment in partnership with Operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and partners through consistent communication and problem-solving.
- Monitor sell-through, identify opportunities for replenishment, and support partners with product knowledge and marketing assets.
- Prepare account-level reporting, growth strategies, and end-of-season recaps.
Who You Are:
- 7–10+ years of experience in merchandising, wholesale, or related commercial roles within fashion & apparel
- Strong understanding of line planning, SKU productivity, margin management, and channel strategy.
- Demonstrated success managing wholesale accounts and driving revenue growth.
- Exceptional analytical and financial acumen; proficient with forecasting and merchandising tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and lead teams through fast-paced seasonal cycles.
- Highly organized, solution-oriented, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves.
- Experience managing or influencing design, planning, and sales counterparts.
