Director, Strategic Finance

Who We Are

The Strategic Finance team at HopSkipDrive is responsible for providing data-driven insights to inform financial, strategic, and operational decision-making across the company. You will drive company-wide long range planning and reporting, as well as support a broad set of initiatives including corporate strategy, scenario planning, capital allocation analysis and beyond. Reporting to the VP Finance & Strategy, this is a high-impact, highly visible role critical to shaping HopSkipDrive’s long-term business plan, responsible for the following:

  • Drive HopSkipDrive’s strategic planning process, including building and maintaining the long range plan 
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and business partners to conduct analysis that prioritizes growth, such as evaluating initiatives by performing ROI analyses, market sizing and market entry planning for new markets, pricing strategy, marketplace incentives, etc.
  • Lead competitive analysis and enhance understanding of our markets and customers
  • Prepare presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors, and provide analyses and recommendations to assist with strategic decision-making and prioritization 
  • Develop and operationalize frameworks for KPIs to focus senior leadership on clear metrics that drive insights and facilitate informed decision making 
  • Build and lead a high-performing team responsible for guiding HopSkipDrive’s growth and scale

 

Who You Are

You’re an analytical and strategic thinker with a strong command on financial modeling, cross-functional partnership, and driving analyses and outcomes that generate growth and scale.  With the following skills, you’ll make a tangible and immediate impact:

  • Bachelor’s and/or MBA in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, or other quantitative field
  • 3-5+ years post-MBA or 8+ years without an MBA of analytical experience in investment banking, management consulting or private equity and/or a corporate development, strategy or financial planning & analysis role at a leading technology company
  • Strong financial skill set and grasp of corporate finance fundamentals, including experience with forecasting and business plan analysis
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including building and maintaining financial models
  • Excellent ability to generate insights from scratch, including sourcing, transforming, analyzing and presenting complex financial and operational data in a simple, easily understandable way
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills, particularly the ability to summarize analysis and present them concisely to a range of stakeholders, including executives
  • Experience working in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • A proven ability to build collaborative working relationships with business partners
  • A self-starter who is an enthusiastic team player
  • Knowledge of BI tools and technologies (e.g.,Tableau and/or Power BI) is a plus.

HopSkipDrive is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Los Angeles, CA is $150,000 - $ 170,000. This position is hybrid / remote based in LA. compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this role also includes equity stock options.
