The Product Management team collaborates closely with stakeholders and partners with Product Design, Data and Engineering teams to continuously enhance our products and platform. Product is essential to the company’s continued growth in pursuit of our mission to create opportunity for all through mobility. We are a fast-growing team focused on developing next-generation systems to help the platform scale and drive new business lines. We are searching for product leaders to join our talented team and take on this challenging and rewarding work.

Every day, school districts arrange transportation for hundreds of thousands of students who require highly specialized vehicles, equipment, or supports. This includes students with disabilities needing wheelchair lift-equipped vehicles, those requiring safety vests or an additional adult, early childhood students needing car seats, and other students more efficiently served by 6-12 passenger vans. 

The Lead Product Manager, Specialty Transportation will concentrate on critical cross-platform initiatives, working to ensure that HopSkipDrive can expand services to accommodate a broader range of specialized vehicles, equipment and care. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing our ability to support all of these use cases in the future and play a pivotal role in establishing this new category for our business. You will drive the product vision, strategy, and execution of our specialty transportation products, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness in managing student transportation needs.

In this Role, You Will:

  • Partner closely with the SVP, Product and Director of Specialty Transportation and other senior leaders to align on business requirements, establish a product strategy and long-term roadmap for your area of focus 
  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for our specialty transportation solutions
  • Work collaboratively with Product Design, Engineering, and Data Science to deliver a new web, mobile, and backend features and enhancements
  • Ensure that HopSkipDrive delivers a smooth, safe and compliant experience for riders, CareDrivers, and partners while adhering to all regulatory requirements
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging industry trends, evolving customer needs, and competitive landscape
  • Regularly collaborate with product and engineering leadership on annual and quarterly roadmapping 
  • Coordinate user research to surface insights into improving the usability and stability of our speciality transportation experience across all platforms 
  • Collaborate with other PMs to deliver projects with multiple dependencies across the platform
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams and external partners on GTM strategy and product launches
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for product projects, setting ambitious targets and driving user adoption, enhancing user experience, and optimizing product features to achieve those targets
  • Continuously measure and track the specific impact of product initiatives, and leverage data-driven insights and user feedback to enhance product performance
  • Manage and mentor 1-3 Product Managers, fostering their professional development and growth

 

Who You Are:

You are a passionate product lead with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. You have a hands-on, outcome oriented approach and are comfortable with ambiguity and a bias towards action in shaping new products.

  • 10+ years experience in product management roles, focusing on both customer-facing and B2B applications across mobile and web platforms
  • Hands-on experience leading/mentoring other PM's on a team 
  • Experience working with platforms that prioritize safe, real-time interactions between users, ideally within transportation, logistics, travel or related industries
  • Experience mentoring and/or managing other product managers
  • Proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to effectively navigate ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies within projects. Skilled in defining and analyzing metrics to measure product success.
  • Excellent product sense and a keen eye for creating  usable and elegant user experiences and interfaces
  • Strong skills in market and user research and data-driven product analytics
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, including writing clear and concise product requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment

This position is remote and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this role also includes equity stock options.
