We are looking for a Principal Producer for a 13 months fixed term contract!
THE JOB
Want to join the talented and passionate team behind RETURNAL, which won 4 Bafta awards in 2022, and who are now working on SAROS, the highly anticipated game launching in 2026?
As the Principal Producer, you will be producing a major part of the project. With your extensive experience, you will take full responsibility for coordinating the production process and making sure the project stays within budget and on schedule. You will work closely with directors and leads from all development areas to help your team deliver a high-quality game.
You will report to the studio's Production Director, who oversees the entire production craft at Housemarque. You will also be responsible for game delivery to our Executive Producer, who manages our entire game portfolio from a product standpoint.
2026 is looking to be an exciting and busy year at Housemarque as we embark on a new project after shipping SAROS. We need some temporary help to widen our production team bandwidth, to ensure we ship SAROS successfully while ramping up a new project at the same time.
This contract will last 13 months, and will require daily presence at our studio in Helsinki, Finland.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Build strong collaborative relationships with directors and studio leadership to ensure alignment of objectives and efficient communication across teams.
- Collaborate with the Executive Producer who oversees the studio’s entire portfolio, to ensure the project is on track and meets the studio's objectives and expectations.
- Report to the Production Director, who supervises the entire production craft within the studio
- Coordinate the collaboration across the game team and all crafts involved, ensuring alignment and delivery of a complex game project effectively.
- Ensure that your project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards and that they meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive the implementation of Agile processes within your project, driving continuous improvement, enhancing team collaboration and project efficiency.
- Solve complex production and process challenges with a high degree of initiative.
- Manage the master project schedule, including tracking dependencies and critical path milestones, working with the producer team, directors and leads to resolve any issues or roadblocks during the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate project management processes, tools, and methodologies to ensure they are effective and efficient.
What will help you to be successful in this role?
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards
- Proficiency in the game production process, with extensive experience guiding the development of high-profile game titles from conception to release.
- Expert project management capabilities within Agile frameworks, overseeing large-scale teams and budgets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Expert knowledge of production at scale, including distributed co-development teams, outsourcing strategies, and complex vendor management
- Experience working within a large multinational, multi-studio organization like PlayStation Studios.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and how to apply those in a multi-cultural environment where everyone is not a native speaker
