Job Description

Huge is looking for a highly skilled and client-focused Solutions Architect to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance solutions that align with our clients' strategic business objectives. You will play a crucial role in engaging directly with clients, understanding their business needs, and building strong, trusted relationships. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including clients and development teams, you will translate complex business requirements into innovative technical solutions that harness the latest advancements in technologies. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Applies common design patterns and best practices, drives coding standards, leads code reviews, and ensures engineering best practices across multiple projects.
  • Quickly identifies critical capabilities, gaps, and architectural roadblocks, and communicates them to the team while providing alternate approaches.
  • Can use the learnings and insights from POCs to help craft a proposed solution for a production implementation of the solution.
  • Drives architectural and systems design for the implementation of mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their business needs, challenges, and goals. 
  • Design end-to-end architectures and solutions that are scalable, reliable, and efficient, considering factors such as data integration, model training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Select appropriate technologies, frameworks, platforms, and tools based on project requirements and constraints.
  • Create detailed architectural blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation that articulate the proposed solutions.
  • Lead and mentor technical teams throughout the development lifecycle, providing guidance on best practices, system design, and implementation strategies.
  • Ensure that solutions adhere to industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy, security).
  • Conduct technical reviews and evaluations of components, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and performance goals.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the solutions domain, staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends.

What we’d like to see

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-4+ years of experience in an architect role or similar position, with a focus on React Native development. Expert proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React fundamentals.
  • Extensive experience deploying native applications and CI/CD pipeline tooling used to orchestrate them (Codepush, Appcenter, Testflight, iOS and Android app stores).
  • Clear understanding of state management solutions (Redux, MobX or similar).
  • In-depth knowledge with Expo SDK and EAS (deployments, publishing, etc) or something equivalent.
  • Experience building high fidelity, themeable UIs with modern styling systems (Nativewind, Tamagui, or similar)
  • Experience with mobile testing frameworks (Jest, Detox), native module development, performance profiling tools, push notifications (Airship), deep linking.
  • Comfortable working with one or more cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with software development best practices, including version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with mobile payment integration (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe) and in-app purchase implementations is highly desired.
  • Leverage modern development tools, including AI-powered coding assistants (GitHub Copilot), to enhance productivity and drive innovation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong appreciation for design and user experience and its importance to the final delivered solution.

This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico, and Hawaii, USA.

The salary range for this position is as listed below. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the actual salary ranges for current and former employees who are either currently filling a similar role or did in the past; the candidate’s depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations; the market demand for that role and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based. For current Huge employees, tenure will also be a consideration.
