Senior UI Engineer

Location: This position is remote within Colombia

We are looking for a Senior UI Engineer to join our team. What you’ll do

• Build modern, interactive websites using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and UI frameworks (including, but not limited to Angular, React, Vue)
• Provide front end technical guidance across functions (i.e. you may need to explain the feasibility of a new feature to our UX team, or give a PM an estimate of how long a feature would take to implement)
• Collaborate with other Senior Engineers to build advanced dynamic web applications based on digital marketing stacks
• Collaborate with our internal teams to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot advanced, accessible, and W3C-compliant data-driven web applications including integration with existing client systems, web services and 3rd party web service APIs
• Apply development/programming standard methodologies, such as, specification design/review, object oriented development, in-line comments and other typical documentation specifications
• Work in an agile, rapid development and prototyping environment
• Bring passion to leading projects
• Collaborate with design and other departments to clarify requirements and provide feedback
• Collaborate with the QA team in design and implementation of test plans resolving any issues and ensuring software quality
• Provide application support including problem research, analysis, resolution, and on call support when necessary
• Own and Lead large and complex projects across the company
• Provide project leadership to more junior team members
• Work with clients on post-launch improvements and enhancements
• Work with teams from multiple geographic locations, including nearshore and offshore
• Guide and mentor junior team members to meet Hero Digital’s standards

Who you are

We are looking for someone with serious development chops who loves being a part of large scale web projects and being exposed to an ever-changing set of clients and technologies. You will also need to have:

• 3+ years with TypeScript and modern JavaScript
• Experience with modern UI frameworks (React, Vue, or Web Components)
• Must have experience with Motion Design
• Modern CSS proficiency Tailwind, custom properties, container queries — no preprocessor dependency
• Experience building or working within token-based design systems, with Figma as the design collaboration tool
• Proven ability to build WCAG 2.2–compliant interfaces
• Experience integrating CMS platforms or consuming REST/GraphQL APIs
• Familiarity with modern build and quality tooling: Vite, Playwright, Vitest, CI/CD pipelines, Core Web Vitals optimization
• Active use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Gemini, Copilot) with good judgment about output quality
• Strong collaborator across design, QA, product, and engineering — comfortable in fast-paced, iterative environments
• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• Bonus Skills: Scripting, NodeJs, Python, use of animation libraries.
• Nice to have: Contentstack experience
