Huge is looking for a hands-on Solutions Architect to spearhead the technical evolution, infrastructure auditing, and architectural blueprinting for our next-generation platform initiatives (including PMH 2.0). As a Solutions Architect, you will act as the technical visionary and foundational bridge between complex business strategies, engineering execution, and client leadership.
In this role, you will tackle immediate challenges in platform reliability, orchestrate deep architectural decisions for third-party (3P) integrations, and architect a secure, scalable, and agentic AI-driven future. This is a highly strategic, hands-on role demanding a mix of masterful backend engineering rigor, cloud architecture fluency, and the soft skills required to navigate client dynamics, manage legacy code trade-offs, and establish robust development processes.
A successful candidate brings deep seniority—operating with the mindset of an experienced architect or Director of Engineering—backed by a proven track record of designing high-performance ecosystems from scratch.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Platform Reliability & Infrastructure Audit: Conduct comprehensive system, code, and infrastructure audits to eliminate technical instability. Define and execute solutions to optimize cloud services, drastically reducing load times, error rates, and asset upload failures.
- Agentic Platform Design (PMH 2.0): Define the engineering blueprint for PMH 2.0, ensuring all agentic AI solutions strictly adhere to enterprise-grade requirements for Security, Privacy, and Scalability.
- 3P Integration & API Design: Guide deep architectural decisions regarding third-party authentication integrations and engineer high-performance APIs for 3P tooling, focusing on resource optimization and modularity.
- CI/CD & SDLC Modernization: Design and establish essential infrastructure to enhance Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, driving a faster, more automated, and highly consistent release cadence.
- Legacy Code Strategy & Trade-off Management: Legacy systems can be rigid; you will actively navigate the middle ground between maintaining live services and evolving the architecture toward a modern, flexible future state.
- Architectural Governance: Establish backend development processes, championing architecture best practices and reliability guarantees across the engineering team to optimize the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Client & Stakeholder Interaction: Act as a trusted solutions architect to client leadership, abstracting complex backend and infrastructure limitations into clear, strategic choices.
What We’d Like to See
- Hands-on Seniority: 8+ years of deep engineering experience, with a proven track record operating as a Solutions Architect or Director of Engineering.
- Advanced Python & Django Ecosystem: Mastery of Python Core (decorators, magic methods, context managers) and heavy production experience with Django and Django templates.
- Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure from Scratch: Strong cloud-native thinking with the proven ability to design scalable, secure architectures from the ground up. Experience with GCP is highly ideal, though AWS or Azure expertise is fully transferable.
- Microservices & Integrations: Extensive experience designing decoupled systems, microservices, complex API layers, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Database & Data Management: Advanced SQL knowledge with deep, hands-on production experience optimizing PostgreSQL.
- Containerization & DevOps Tooling: Strong proficiency in Docker management and designing containerized deployment strategies within modern CI/CD pipelines.
- AI & Creative Implementation: Practical experience or strong working knowledge of integrating AI solutions and building creative, intelligent tooling within a platform ecosystem.
- Elite Problem Solving: Comfort navigating ambiguity, unblocking strict environment access/permission obstacles, and making high-stakes technical trade-offs.
- Communication & Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead workshops, present technical roadmaps to clients, and mentor engineering teams.
Nice to Have
- Cloud Certification: Active certification in any major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, or Azure) is highly desirable.
- Live Services: Experience supporting and scaling high-traffic, live products/services in production.
- CMS Familiarity: Familiarity with Wagtail CMS is a plus.
