Endpoint Engineer

Position Summary:

The Desktop Engineer is responsible for advanced and in-depth troubleshooting of Windows 11 operating systems, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Microsoft Office applications, as well as the management and support of iOS mobile devices and third-party applications. This role requires expert-level proficiency in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft Intune, and Azure Virtual Desktop for endpoint management, deployment, and security. The Desktop Engineer leads efforts to resolve complex technical issues and optimize endpoint environments.

Reporting Structure:

The Endpoint Engineer will report directly to the Manager of Enterprise Applications.

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced, in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis for issues related to Windows 11 operating systems, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Office applications, iOS mobile devices, and third-party applications.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for SCCM, Intune, and Azure Virtual Desktop, design, implement, and optimize the endpoint management solutions.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows for deployment, updates, and application packaging of Windows 11 operating systems and Azure Virtual Desktop using SCCM and Intune.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce endpoint security policies, focusing on Windows 11 operating systems, Azure Virtual Desktop, Office environments, iOS mobile devices, and third-party applications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and training materials for troubleshooting procedures and endpoint management processes.
  • Propose and implement improvements to endpoints to ensure optimal performance and reliability of applications.
  • Stay current with technology standards and trends to ensure best practices in endpoint management and troubleshooting.
  • Create and deploy customized Windows OS images, applications, and drivers on all supported desktop, laptop, and Azure Virtual Desktop platforms.
  • Package new and updated applications on a consistent basis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve endpoint-related issues, ensuring minimal impact on user productivity.
  • Manage Group Policy and Group Policy Preference objects in support of Windows 11 and Office 365 environments.
  • Escalate and troubleshoot third-party software and hardware vendor problems.
  • Utilize SCCM and Intune for patch management, software distribution, and inventory control.
  • Implement best practices for system updates, ensuring a secure and up-to-date endpoint environment.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline endpoint management tasks.
  • Implement scripting solutions to automate repetitive processes, improving overall efficiency.

 Position Specific Skills and Requirements:  

  • Experience with:
    • Possesses over 8 years of experience in Endpoint Engineering.
    • Demonstrated expertise in Windows 11 operating system architecture, Azure Virtual Desktop, servicing, and in-depth troubleshooting.
    • Advanced proficiency in SCCM, Intune, and Azure Virtual Desktop, including custom configuration, deployment, and reporting.
    • Experience managing and troubleshooting iOS mobile devices and third-party applications in an enterprise environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of Office application troubleshooting, including plugin and integration issues.
    • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and diagnostics in Windows 11 environments.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of resolving complex technical issues.
    • Excellent communication skills for documenting solutions and training team members.
    • Experience with antivirus client and policy management tools, such as Microsoft Defender.
    • Experience with Group Policy Object and Group Policy Preference customizations.
    • Proficiency with endpoint troubleshooting tools such as Process Monitor.

Education and General Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with strong academic record.
  • Professional certifications a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and contribute to team goals.
  • Attendance Requirements:
    • On site during normal working hours and available as necessary before or after normal working hours to work at the Firm, over the telephone, or at off-site meetings, in order to meet the demands of the job and the needs of the Firm.
    • Expected to carry a wireless email device and respond when necessary.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Ability to engage in off-site travel as required from time to time, in order to meet the demands of the job, and the needs of the Firm.

Salary Range

$140,000 - $150,000 USD
