ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Associate, Product Strategy role is ideal for someone who wants to build and get their hands dirty. This is not a purely analytical or advisory position - it is for a candidate who is excited to shape strategy and roll up their sleeves to make it real.
You will help define how we compete in the Canadian HPC data center market by combining market analysis, product positioning, and strategic planning with hands-on execution. This means not only identifying trends and opportunities but also developing pricing, working through compliance, negotiating vendor contracts, and driving go-to-market execution. If you want to own, build, and see the impact of your work in market, this role is for you.
Market Analysis & Insight
- Define and track the Canadian HPC/data center market, including colocation and cloud services.
- Monitor competitor offerings and hyperscaler strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation.
- Analyze customer needs across industries (AI labs, enterprises, regulated sectors) and anticipate future demand drivers.
Product Strategy & Development
- Recommend positioning, pricing, and service models to strengthen our competitive position.
- Lead pricing strategy for new products and services, including developing pricing models, testing assumptions, and aligning with customer willingness-to-pay.
- Identify new product opportunities (e.g., HPC-optimized colocation, sustainability features, compliance-as-a-service).
- Develop business cases and ROI models for new product initiatives.
- Manage and maintain the existing product portfolio, updating and revising offerings as needed.
- Ensure product compliance with relevant licensing, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Execution & Go-to-Market
- Partner with sales and marketing to build compelling customer narratives and product collateral.
- Support segmentation, bundling, and monetization strategies for new products.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering to pilot and launch new service offerings.
- Develop internal and external documentation for product launches and updates.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Conduct financial analysis of existing and new products, including resource requirements, return profile, and revenue expectations.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and partnership evaluations.
- Define and track metrics for product adoption, utilization, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, engineering, finance, and leadership to ensure strategy is grounded in execution.
- Translate customer insights into actionable requirements for service delivery teams.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- 3–5 years in product strategy, corporate strategy, consulting, or business operations; exposure to data centers, cloud, HPC, or infrastructure markets strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, financial modeling, and pricing strategy.
- Proficiency in Excel/financial modeling, PowerPoint/slide building, and BI tools preferred (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, SQL familiarity an asset).
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft narratives for executives and customers.
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-change startup environment with limited structure.
WHY JOIN US
- Shape the product strategy of a growing Canadian HPC data center business at a pivotal time.
- High visibility to leadership, with the opportunity to directly influence market positioning.
