Program Lead, Project Operations
ABOUT HUT 8
Imagine the ultimate destination for those who want to work at the cutting edge of technology, energy, and infrastructure. Hut 8 is on a mission to build and operate some of the world’s largest data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, Colocation, Cloud, and Bitcoin Mining. We are proud to offer interesting and challenging opportunities for individuals who want to build teams, solve problems, and make an impact from day one. If you’re an ambitious individual looking for a career that is as rewarding as it is challenging, you’ve come to the right place.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Program Lead is a key member of Hut 8's Project Operations team, serving as the operational backbone between department-level standards and the field teams responsible for executing them. This role is responsible for ensuring that Hut 8's growing portfolio of data center and energy infrastructure projects is properly resourced, coordinated, and administratively supported from initiation through delivery. The Program Lead leads by influence — guiding a distributed network of Project Administrative Leads across active project sites, driving portfolio readiness, and ensuring every team has the tools, reporting frameworks, and communication infrastructure to operate effectively at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and manage Hut 8's Portfolio Readiness Program — a cross-functional initiative that oversees all active and upcoming projects, ensuring the organization has the right number of subject matter experts and field resources to meet current and future project demands
- Lead a distributed team of Project Administrative Leads across active project sites, conducting routine check-ins, implementing coordination standards, and ensuring each coordinator has the tools, resources, and guidance needed to perform their role effectively
- Build and maintain the communication infrastructure across the project portfolio —including Slack workspaces, project management platforms, email distribution structures, and other administrative tools that enable consistent, reliable information flow between field teams and leadership
- Support financial reporting to leadership, tracking expenditures across team assets, software platforms, personnel, and project development activities — identifying where the organization is over- or under-investing and surfacing actionable recommendations
- Develop and enforce project coordination standards across all active sites, ensuring that field-level operations remain consistent and aligned with Project Operations frameworks
- Serve as a primary coordination point between field teams and senior leadership, escalating risks and project-level issues and ensuring the right information reaches the right stakeholders at the right time
- Support the onboarding of new projects and initiatives, ensuring they are provisioned with the administrative infrastructure, personnel, and communication channels required from day one
- And other duties as assigned
ABOUT YOU
To thrive in this role, you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Operations Management, or a related field
- 5–7 years of experience in program management, project administration, or operations coordination — preferably within a fast-scaling, multi-site environment
- Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating distributed teams, with a track record of leading by influence and building alignment across geographically dispersed stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen, with experience tracking team or project-level expenditures, preparing budget summaries, and contributing to resource and headcount planning processes
- Proficiency in project management platforms (e.g., ACC, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or comparable tools) and collaboration infrastructure including Slack and Microsoft Teams
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities across a portfolio of concurrent projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate field-level updates into clear, actionable intelligence for senior leadership
- Background in AEC, infrastructure, or capital project environments is a plus
