PROCESS OPERATOR
The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the operation of chemical processes (adjusting variables such as temperature, pressure, feed rate, sampling, etc.).
This is a 5-2-2-5 3rd Shift position schedule (6PM to 6:30AM) and requires every other weekend.
Primary responsibilities include:
Comply with all safety and regulatory compliance programs.
Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas while working in a safe manner & following all established SOP’s
Use the PPE as specified in the SOP's.
Be an active member of the emergency response team and associated training.
Fill out the regulatory paperwork, inspections, and checklists as assigned meeting the intent of the regulations.
Maintain regulatory compliance (RCRA, Title V, Air Permits, and OSHA regulations) in assigned areas.
Participate in mandatory Environmental, Health, & Safety and process specific training.
Communicate to shift supervisor or senior operator compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified.
Fill out the daily and weekly inspections check sheets as assigned.
Fill out all vessel batch logs, reports, manifests, check sheets, etc. as assigned.
Complete prism tasks for material transfers move tickets, material usage, prism logs, and work orders, raw material inventory, produced inventory, and ensure compliance to PRISM and ISO 9001:2000 SOP’s and documentation as directed by the shift supervisor or senior operator.
Operate processes (adjusting variables such as temperature, pressure, feed rate, sampling, etc.) in accordance with SOP’s; notify shift supervisor or senior operator of deviations from the SOP’s
Recording information, such as ingredients, weights, and temperature, and input into the database.
Storing, retrieving, mixing, and monitoring chemicals used in the production process.
Troubleshooting issues with production equipment and processes.
Monitor chemical treatment machines and instruments, including flow meters and machine dials, to ensure machinery is operating correctly at all times.
Respond to warning signals and alarms that indicate issues have arisen, taking all necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
Monitor the chemical process using controls, panel boards and other input devices to operate the manual and semi-automatic machinery.
Take chemical samples and perform tests to ensure the process is progressing properly.
Regulate or turn off machines in emergency situations and follow all instructions from supervisory staff quickly and precisely.
Perform auxiliary tasks such as tank transfers, bulk truck or railcar loading/unloading, container emptying and filling, dumping bags and supersacks, sampling, pump outs, etc.
Recommend changes in SOP’s and process-related equipment.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the production supervisor.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office.
Ability to operate a forklift; previous experience preferred.
Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

PLANT ENGINEER
This position plays a vital role in advancing and supporting the Waterloo facility through the Maintenance department. The individual in this role will contribute to both short and long-term goals for the Waterloo branch, and the company as a whole.
Primary responsibilities include:
Utilize maintenance resources to ensure that plant equipment is maintained to operate safely and efficiently and preventive maintenance is completed on schedule.
Provide direct leadership by example for the Maintenance Technicians and, by extension, all plant employees.
Responsible for carrying out capital projects utilizing plant maintenance labor as needed
Responsible for managing and developing job plans for the Maintenance Department to ensure that plant equipment is maintained to operate safely and efficiently and that repairs are conducted on a timely basis.
Assist in outlining maintenance metrics for performance, reliability, PM’s, mechanical integrity, controls and instrumentation.
Maintain preventative maintenance schedule and ensure all documentation is kept current on the asset management system (Maximo)
Ensure that “critical spares” and parts inventory are maintained at the required level.
Ensure that maintenance personnel and contractors are properly trained, and such training is documented.
Manage contractors, including safety training, on site job management and quality control.
Develop and execute the Plant Maintenance standards to meet the requirements set forth by SQF, FESMA, AIB and the FDA.
Assist, in Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, and also able to perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out of equipment.
As assigned, perform duties of construction manager and contractor liaison with external contractors in the timely, expense conscious completion of capital and maintenance related activities.
Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required.
Review changes/additions with your supervisor. Must be RCRA compliant.

Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
Develop continuous improvement opportunities to remove waste and control cost around plant maintenance

Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures in conjunction with plant/process engineering
Provide technical and operational support for equipment repairs and troubleshooting
Perform as subject matter expert in regard to site utilities and infostructure
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
3-5 years of relevant experience is required. Project Management experience preferred.
1-3 years of chemical experience in a supervisory or management role preferred.
Experience managing with a maintenance software system is preferred.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

MAINTENANCE MANAGER
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and direct the operations of the Plant Maintenance and subsequent personnel to insure that plant resources are used efficiently to meet customer requirements and that Hydrite procedures and policies are followed and regulatory requirements are complied with as they pertain to the plant.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads and supports Hydrite's Safety Vision, Mission and Values.
Work with the SQRA Coordinator and Operations Manager to ensure that safety and regulatory issues are addressed and training is conducted to meet Hydrite and regulatory agency requirements.
Responsible for managing the activities, procedures and standards of performance for all Maintenance personnel following established SOP’s, safety, and regulatory policies.
Responsible for managing the Maintenance Department to ensure that plant equipment is maintained to operate safely and efficiently and that repairs are conducted on a timely basis.
Responsible for development and maintenance of CMMS (Maximo).
Develop and manage the maintenance budget for HWL.
Develop a report to communicate plant maintenance statistics based on the maintenance program to ensure quality information is available to evaluate equipment life, performance and issues.
Responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities and formulating project proposals for addressing them.
Ensure that standard operating procedure documents are current and trained. Update procedures effecting the Maintenance Department as necessary to maintain consistency with current plant practices.
Responsible for managing plant capital projects assigned.
Assist the branch Operations Manager and Plant Engineer in preparing the plant capital expense budget.
Manage and develop the work orders system, preventive maintenance schedules, LO/TO and other procedures, equipment histories and inventories, etc.
Responsible for the evaluation and development of Maintenance personnel. This includes a formal performance evaluation in the Spring, and an informal performance evaluation in the Fall, and other informal evaluations as needed. Conduct performance appraisals at a minimum of one formal in the Spring and informal (one page summary) in the Fall.
Serve as Waterloo’s Primary Emergency Coordinator and a member of the Branch Emergency Response Team.
Guides employee performance and development through the use of daily communication and annual performance evaluations.

Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Submit a monthly status report for the Maintenance Department. Report should communicate performance statistics and critical departmental activity.
Guide personnel in charge of process controls to advance the systems in the plant and maintain adequate documentation and drawings.
Organize and maintain a vendors file for equipment, parts, etc.
Develop and execute corrective actions for deficiencies found during regular plant audits.
Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as necessary.
Supports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Plant Manager.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or >10 years relevant technical experience is required.
Three to five years of chemical processing experience with supervisory or management experience.
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with employees and management.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
Must have an acceptable driving record.
