OPPORTUNITY

The primary purpose of this position is to provide cost administrative support to designated Purchasing Agents while ensuring that costs are current and accurate in our system. Additionally, this role will address issues with the costing system as they come up and provide support for the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow the Hydrite SOP titled “Maintaining Accurate Product Costs” while performing daily tasks.
  • Function as the focal point for purchase agreement costing questions
  • Receive, organize and maintain all vendor cost documentation in vendor price books.
  • Execute cost change strategies with assigned Purchasing Agents and update records.
  • Review daily exception reports and perform necessary PO changes, PO reversals and/or agreement updates.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with minimal Purchasing Agent involvement.
  • Purge unnecessary agreement records from system.
  • Set up new purchased items within ERP system
  • Monitor, audit and update department “Specialty” assigned tasks. I.e. Vendor Deals, Optiva Projects, Product Information Data and Qualifying New Supplier Process Paperwork.
  • Work with Corporate Purchasing Staff and Branch Buyers on ERP capabilities and applicable SOP’s.
  • Run system generated reports on an as needed basis for assigned Purchasing Agents.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Strategic Sourcing Manager

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA

  • College education, technical and/or business degree preferred.
  • Costing experience preferred
  • Computer literate in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and people skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to initiate continuous improvements.
  • Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit seven hours a day.

  • Work with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provide back-up support as necessary.
  • Support effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.
