IT Cloud Engineer

OPPORTUNITY

The primary purpose of the IT Cloud Engineer is to become a strategic partner with the organization to adopt private, public and hybrid Cloud solutions. In this role, you’ll work on a team committed to defining technical strategy, architecting, designing, and delivering customized, end-to-end digital transformation. You'll bring your technical experience in DevOps and Azure Cloud solutions (including IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as Service) and a passion for cloud-driven technologies and lifelong learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors system uptime, performance, backups, and replication. Troubleshooting and resolving operation errors.
  • Deploys and manages implementation and integration of cloud-based solutions and infrastructure, ensuring that appropriate security standards are met.
  • Analyze and define business requirements to determine specifications and standards; proposes and develops solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize Azure spend, utilization, and resource efficiency to align with organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance and resource management through a strong understanding of Azure governance, including policies, role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Develop automation scripts or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for efficient deployment and operations of cloud-based resources.
  • Stays informed of emerging cloud technologies and evaluates their value to the organization's operations.
  • Participate in enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing solutions
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and deployment issues.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure successful project delivery, utilizing test and acceptance best practices
  • Maintains reports, logs, or other records of security audits.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience
  • At least 2 years of Cloud experience is preferred
  • Exposure or prior collaboration with networking or cyber security
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
    • AZ-900 Required
    • Azure Administrator or FinOps certification is a plus.
  • Experience with deploying and managing cloud solutions in Azure.
  • Experience with designing and supporting cloud environments, including IaaS and PaaS.
  • Experience with Landing Zone design and implementations.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform
  • Understanding of security best practices for Azure resources
  • Understanding of Azure Governance mechanisms
  • Understanding of Azure Networking like virtual networks, private endpoints, network peering, routing tables, etc.
  • Understanding of cloud automation and orchestration tools and techniques including Git & Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, or AKS (Azure Kubernetes Services).
  • Understanding of one or more configuration management systems such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Hands-on coding experience with Python, PowerShell, and Bicep
  • Ability to manage a vendor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or 30 lbs. frequently
  • Sit or stand for 8 hours

JOB EXPECTATIONS:

  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required.  Review changes/additions with your supervisor.  Must be RCRA compliant.
  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
  • Work with other staff members to maintain workload balances.  Provide back-up support as necessary.
  • Support effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • This position is based at our corporate office in Brookfield, WI, and does not offer relocation assistance.
  • Our IT Cloud Engineer will be in the office 4-5 days/week.
  • We are not currently accepting candidates requiring visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
