Lead Production Operator - Truck Loading/Rail

OPPORTUNITY

The purpose of this position is to provide training for all truck bay operators on how to safely perform all job responsibilities.  To provide leadership, coordination and training of plant railroad operations.  To provide support of planning and scheduling of activities associated with bulk truck along with the shift supervisors. This position will uphold the Hydrite “Standards of Excellence” through safe execution and continuous commitment to customer satisfaction, both internal and external.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and supports Hydrite’s Safety Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Leads and enforces Hydrite’s Safe Methodical Work pace, PPE compliance and other applicable safety protocols.
  • Primary trainer for new employees working in the truck bay and rail areas, ensuring adherence to procedures and job aids.
  • Reviews procedures and job aids to ensure they reflect best practices.
  • Provide refresher and on-going training for all truck bay operators.
  • Coordinates with management team to ensure the master truck bay and rail schedule is efficient and accurate.
  • Actively partner with Maintenance and Management in area preventative maintenance including equipment documentation, ensuring associated equipment is maintained and repaired as needed, and assist with completion of associated PM’s.
  • Communicates with Manufacturing Managers and Production Supervisors to achieve 100% customer satisfaction with bulk material deliveries.
  • Assists with development of new SOP’s, JTPs, job aids and training information,
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned as Production Operator.
  • All other duties as assigned

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • The Hourly Truck Bay Trainer reports to the Production Supervisor.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience preferred in chemical processing or similar manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must have good presentation and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-motivated and have the ability to initiate continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is a working leadership position. Approximately 30% planning & scheduling and 70% hands on support.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds, on occasion.
  • Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day.  Please refer to the SOP for facial hair guidelines.
  • Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited.
  • Able to wear a hairnet and beard net, if applicable, with a hard hat.
  • No exposed jewelry in body piercings when in a GMP production area.
  • Ability to wear SCBA and additional personal protective equipment.
