Client Delivery Team Lead - Assistant Vice President (Private Investment Desk)

About the Role
iCapital is seeking an experienced professional to manage a team of client-facing Analysts and Associates delivering best-in-class private investment support and providing hands-on operational support for our clients. This individual will be responsible for coaching the team through complex client issues, overseeing special projects, and ensuring that team members deliver high quality service to our clients on a consistent basis. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic, performance-driven, fast-paced environment and familiar with the operational nuances of the alternative investment class.
Our Private Investment Desk has in-depth knowledge of alternative investment operational management and organization, so understanding how to manage and develop talent in these areas will be critical.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and explain requirements within applicable investment documentation, including subscription documents, redemption notices, investment agreements, side letters, transfer agreements, etc.
- Liaise with investment managers, administrators, wealth managers, and custodians regarding private investment tasks and related inquiries.
- Assess private investment capital call activity in accordance with GAAP and explain insights.
- Review and evaluate documents and key provisions related to private investments to understand the terms and conditions.
- Coach and condition the team on daily deliverables and performance, supporting all client escalations.
- Document policies and procedures and monitor to ensure compliance.
- Design and implement process improvement and leverage technology to drive efficiency.
- Develop and strengthen client relationships through client on-boarding, client account setup and training, day-to-day support, and issue management.
- Assist with sales objectives and billing as needed.
- Work amongst other team leads and senior management to prioritize individual and communal work to ensure all projects are completed on time and to detailed specifications.
- Establish operational effectiveness through the development and adoption of policies, procedures, and controls.
- Provide performance metrics and updates to leadership
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience of client service with relevant financial industry experience
- Able to manage a team of reporting professionals, provide feedback, coach their development, escalate employee issues
- Well-organized and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet urgent deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of wealth management’s products, policies, and practices
- Able to develop and maintain excellent, effective client relationships
- Strong understanding of financial instruments and alternative investment lifecycles
- Able to think critically through complex performance management reporting issues and best practices
- Highly attentive to detail and accuracy while maintaining an organized approach to duties and responsibilities
- Comfortable with technology, software tools and applications and learn new software quickly, Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills and operational workflow development
- Excellent client relation skills and the ability to foster and maintain exceptional client service
- Devotion to collaboration and ability to thrive in a team environment while working independently
- Must be proactive in assessing and acting upon client and company needs
- Able to evaluate, manage, and resolve unexpected and complex situations
- High degree of flexibility and professionalism in a demanding, expanding and a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Comfortable with learning and leveraging new technologies to drive efficiency and scalability
Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $110,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. We believe the best ideas and innovation happen when we are together. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
