About the Role
iCapital is rolling out our new identity management platform focused on helping highly regulated financial institutions streamline their investor onboarding process including accreditation verification, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Know Your Business (KYB). Our platform offers state-of-the-art solutions that help these institutions comply with regulatory requirements, prevent fraud, and provide seamless, secure user experiences. With an emphasis on automation, security, and scalability, we’re driving innovation in the identity verification and compliance space.
The Solutions Engineer will play a key role in bridging the gap between our cutting-edge identity management platform and our clients' needs. This individual will work directly with financial institutions, Legal and Compliance teams, and technical stakeholders to design and implement tailored KYC and KYB solutions, all while ensuring smooth technical integration. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor, providing technical expertise during pre-sales and post-sales processes to ensure clients get the most value from our platform. The ability to solve complex technical challenges, understand regulatory requirements, and provide exceptional service to clients will be crucial in ensuring successful onboarding, implementation, and long-term client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Client Engagement and Discovery:
- Lead technical discovery calls with clients to understand their KYC/KYB workflows, compliance needs, and integration requirements.
- Design tailored solutions that meet both regulatory and business requirements.
- Solution Design and Architecture:
- Collaborate with clients to design, architect, and deploy our Accreditation, KYC, and KYB services into their existing tech stacks.
- Understand client data flows, assisting with technical integrations (APIs, SDKs), and ensuring smooth user experience and compliance.
- Implementation and Integration Support:
- Provide hands-on technical guidance throughout the entire implementation process, from system integration to live deployment.
- Work closely with Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to KYC/KYB processes, data ingestion, and API calls.
- Regulatory and Compliance Expertise:
- Act as a trusted advisor on KYC, KYB, and regulatory compliance topics for financial institutions, keeping up to date with industry trends, regulations (e.g., AML, 506(c)), and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS) to ensure our platform is meeting all necessary legal requirements.
- Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (PoCs):
- Lead product demos and PoCs to showcase how our Accreditation, KYC/KYB solutions address client needs, demonstrating product features and capabilities that align with their business objectives and regulatory obligations.
- Collaboration and Cross-functional Work:
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Client Success teams to ensure client feedback is incorporated into future product releases.
- Ensure technical requirements and client feedback are clearly communicated within the organization.
- Industry and Product Expertise:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving KYC/KYB regulations.
- Educate both internal teams and clients on new capabilities, regulatory changes, and best practices in identity verification and compliance.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of KYC, KYB, and AML processes, and how these integrate with identity management and financial institutions' compliance workflows
- Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs, JavaScript SDKs, and building custom solutions for clients, especially in highly regulated sectors
- Solid understanding of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., FATF, GDPR, CDD, EDD) and how they apply to KYC/KYB processes, financial institutions, and digital onboarding
- Proficiency in web technologies (e.g., RESTful APIs, JSON, OAuth) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiar with security protocols such as encryption, authentication, and data privacy in regulated environments is a plus
- Able to troubleshoot complex technical issues, propose solutions, and work collaboratively with clients to resolve problems efficiently
- 10+ years of experience in a client-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Implementation Engineer) within a SaaS or financial technology company, particularly for regulated industries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Able to write technical documentation, reports, and training materials
- Able to work cross-functionally with Sales, Client Success, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver client solutions and drive success
- Experience working with financial institutions, fintechs, or highly regulated sectors
- Certifications in compliance (e.g., CAMS, ACAMS) or identity management (e.g., Certified Identity Management Professional - CIMP)
- Knowledge of investor onboarding workflows, biometrics, or AI-powered identity verification technologies
- Familiar with identity verification vendors or platforms (e.g., Persona, Onfido, Trulioo)
Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $ 140,000 to $ 175,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. We believe the best ideas and innovation happen when we are together. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
