Team Overview:
We are looking for a Principal SoC Architect to join the Impinj RAIN RFID Reader IC Engineering team to define the SoC Architecture for the next generation of Reader ICs. In this position, you will use your experience in SoC Architecture, HW/SW codesign, microarchitecture, digital design and design verification to take Impinj’s next generation of Reader ICs from concept through to production.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the architecture of Impinj’s next-generation RAIN RFID Reader ICs—from concept through design implementation, silicon test and characterization, and high-volume production
- Collaborate with Product Management and Systems Engineering to define innovative features and performance targets that extend Impinj’s leadership in the Reader IC market
- Provide hands-on technical direction to a cross-functional team of system, firmware, RTL design, place-and-route, verification, CAD, and product test engineers
- Oversee product definition, subsystem definition, design, and implementation to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of an industry leading RAIN RFID Reader IC
- Leverage your broad knowledge of state-of-the-art SoC Integration and correct by construction Tools, Flows, and methodologies to advance the Impinj Reader IC design flows and environment and ensure A0 tape-out production quality
- Coordinate across disciplines to define priorities, align workflows, and remove execution barriers
- Drive enhancements to existing Reader IC products through new features and performance improvements
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 15+ years of experience in SoC architecture, subsystem definition, microarchitecture and IP block design
- Proven success leading multiple complex ICs from concept to first-time right tape-out and production
- Deep knowledge of microcontroller and system bus architectures (ARM and AMBA), including understanding of system performance metrics
- Expertise translating protocol, functional, and feature requirements into architecture and RTL implementation
- Strong proficiency with Verilog/System Verilog for RTL development, modeling, and verification
- Experience evaluating and integrating third-party IP such as Ethernet, USB, and DDR4/DDR5 controllers
- Familiarity with machine learning and cryptographic accelerator implementations
- Extensive experience with Low Power design and mixed signal IP block design
- Demonstrated technical leadership with broad organizational impact
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:
The benefits listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Impinj and the country where you work.
The typical base pay range for this role across the US is $179,700 - $269,600. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At Impinj certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
