Team Overview:

The Production Product Test Engineering (PTE) and Quality team is responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and quality of semiconductor products throughout the product lifecycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) through high-volume manufacturing and customer support. The team works closely with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, OSAT partners, and customers to develop robust test solutions, drive yield and quality improvements, investigate product and customer-reported issues, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Through data-driven analysis, characterization, failure investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives, the team plays a critical role in delivering high-quality products that meet customer expectations and business objectives.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and develop the Product Test Engineering (PTE) teams across Taiwan, Thailand, and Malaysia supporting production test operations, including wafer sort, RF, and final test for End Point IC wafer product lines, while serving as the primary technical escalation point for major test engineering and test production challenges across Asia
  • Establish and execute the Asia PTE strategy, aligning teams across sites to deliver consistent test quality, yield, throughput, infrastructure, support, and operational excellence while identifying and closing performance gaps
  • Lead cross-site continuous improvement initiatives to optimize test quality, improve ATE uptime, reduce cost of goods sold (COGS), and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including OSAT subcontractors, design engineering, product test engineering, and other cross-functional teams, to align test requirements, quality objectives, performance standards, and operational readiness
  • Own, monitor, and optimize production test systems across multiple sites in Asia to ensure optimal throughput, yield, quality, reliability, and operational performance
  • Lead Product Test Engineering NPI activities, including development of production and characterization hardware for automatic test equipment (ATE), transition of test solutions into high-volume manufacturing, and achievement of high-test coverage at wafer sort and final test
  • Support R&D and NPI teams in enabling new packaging technologies, new chip features, and new site qualifications by defining and implementing appropriate test coverage strategies and test environments
  • Manage disposition of tested wafers, nonconformance investigations (NCMRs), and Engineering Process Change Notices (EPCNs), ensuring effective implementation of test system updates across Asia operations
  • Support the procurement, installation, qualification, calibration, and maintenance of test equipment and instrumentation required for production and characterization testing
  • Analyze test data and communicate results to Quality and Production PTE leadership, driving data-based improvements while maintaining strong subcontractor and cross-functional relationships to ensure production readiness and rapid resolution of test-related issues

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of engineering management experience, including leadership of multi-site and geographically distributed teams, preferably within the semiconductor industry
  • 12+ years of semiconductor test engineering experience, including wafer Sort, RF test, Final test, and support of high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Hands-on experience with wafer- or die-level ATE testing, including familiarity with NI Semiconductor Test System (STS), Accretech probers, 200mm and 300mm prober operations, and package-part handling
  • Strong RF test experience with a solid understanding of key RF measurements and production test methodologies
  • Extensive experience debugging, improving, and troubleshooting ATE hardware and software systems, including identification and resolution of ATE hardware-related issues
  • Product engineering experience with working knowledge of ATE test coverage, margin analysis, and binning strategies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience using data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies to drive process improvements
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities with a proven ability to develop engineers, influence best practices, and drive results across distributed, multi-site organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present technical findings effectively and collaborate across cross-functional and global teams

Purpose: At Impinj, we are committed to using technology to improve our processes while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and fairness. This policy outlines the permitted uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in our recruitment process for both candidates and our hiring teams.

How Impinj's Recruiting team uses AI:
1.    Interview Scheduling: AI-powered scheduling tools may be used to coordinate interview times between candidates and interviewers. This ensures a more efficient and convenient scheduling process for all parties involved.
2.    Skill Assessments: AI-based assessments may be used to evaluate specific skills relevant to the job. These assessments are designed to provide an objective measure of a candidate's abilities. Results from AI assessments will be considered alongside other evaluation methods to ensure a comprehensive review of each candidate.
3.    Interview transcription: With a candidate’s verbal consent, we may use AI to transcribe and summarize our interviews to reduce reliance on manual notetaking during an interview.

Candidate Expectations:
•    Preparation: We encourage candidates to use available resources for preparation. This includes conducting online research, engaging with professional networks, and asking clarifying questions.
•    Live Interviews: Candidates may not use AI to supplement their performance during live interviews, complete take-home assignments, or for sample work submissions, unless explicitly instructed or agreed upon by a member of the Impinj Recruiting team prior to the live interview or otherwise in advance of the assignment. We want to see your independent ability to think and perform.

Impinj reserves the right to disqualify candidates based on the necessary skills and qualifications for the role(s) in which they’ve applied. If a candidate is reasonably suspected to be using AI during without pre-approval by a member of the Impinj Recruiting team, the candidate may be invalidated for the role.

Voluntary Self-Identification

For government reporting purposes, we ask candidates to respond to the below self-identification survey. Completion of the form is entirely voluntary. Whatever your decision, it will not be considered in the hiring process or thereafter. Any information that you do provide will be recorded and maintained in a confidential file.

As set forth in Impinj’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected group status under any applicable law.
