The Role: Manager-In-Training (MIT)

What you do (Responsibilities):
Unique Customer Experience:
Be proactive communicating to customer service, supply chain operations and buying as it pertains to product launches, quality issues, production delays, fulfillment, raw materials and sundries

- Support the development of processes and communicate with forecasting support person on any concerns regarding sales, safety stocks and life cycles of new and existing products
Unique Staff Journey:

- Oversee Floor Supervisors to ensure staff are on-boarded and trained adequately
- Provide direction, support, feedback, development and performance management to all room staff
- Support the Manager to implement talent programs and ensure all roles are filled and development plans are executed
- Find solutions to staff conflict, provide feedback, coaching, and set expectations
- Assist in management of health and safety initiatives, claims management, and return-to-work
Operational Excellence:

- Assist in planning, implementation, execution and tracking of all short and long term projects
- Support 4-month planning project creation, presentation and implementations within the room
- Help oversee KPIs with a clear understanding of production capabilities taking volume and space into consideration through capacity modeling
- Oversee room reports and ensure they are completed
- Knowledgeable of all costs and revenue generated through the room
Who you are (Qualifications):
Required:
-
- Current Lush employee having held their current role successful for one year
- Previous experience working as a Floor Supervisor (seasonal or core) or equivalent manufacturing/supply chain operations management experience
- Able to effectively manage conflict and difficult decisions as needed, using de-escalation techniques
- An understanding of in-room operations (i.e. routings/metrics, compounding, production lines, processes)
- Accustomed to working in a highly-seasonal, high-pressure production/distribution environment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Able to train, coach, and provide documentation as needed for staff performance development
- Able to give and receive feedback
- Understand how department processes contribute to the success of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Able to navigate email, MS Office Suite, and Google programs (i.e. Sheets, Chat, Meet)
- Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual and dependable
- Commitment to abiding by and overseeing health & safety regulations
- Commitment to abiding by and overseeing quality and good manufacturing practices
- Able to demonstrate organizational skills (i.e. note taking and follow-ups)
- Awareness and commitment towards change management
- Awareness and commitment towards DEIB efforts
- Comfortable with reading, writing, and speaking English in order to communicate with peers and leadership on all platforms (i.e. in person, via email, via Google/Teams chat)
- Comfortable with presenting and public speaking
Preferred:
-
- Experience in production planning and inventory control
- 3+ years of progressive leadership and people management experience
- Capable of performing basic payroll functions
- Demonstrated success in achieving KPIs
- Cross-functional manufacturing and/or supply chain operations experience
- Understanding of all processes and legislations required to ensure safe working practices
- Understanding of ERP systems (AX), production planning processes, and software programs
- Have completed conflict resolution and de-escalation training
