As a Senior Associate, Corporate Development, you will play a critical role in driving our M&A and investment pipeline — from diligence through close and integration. You’ll work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Product, and executive leadership to ensure each transaction is executed with rigor and aligned to IonQ’s long-term strategy.
This role is ideal for a finance or operations professional who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys working across disciplines, and can operate with autonomy in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Deal Execution & Diligence
- Coordinate due diligence across Finance, Legal, Product, and HR for active acquisitions and minority investments.
- Own data room management, diligence trackers, and closing checklists.
- Support financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analyses for live deals.
- Integration & Path-to-Close
- Develop integration work plans for acquired companies, ensuring alignment across accounting, HR, and product teams.
- Partner with the CFO’s office to prepare closing memos, board packages, and post-close tracking materials.
- Portfolio & Process Management
- Track and monitor IonQ’s minority investment portfolio.
- Build standardized diligence and integration frameworks to streamline future M&A.
- Contribute to corporate reporting, including quarterly portfolio reviews and financial updates.
- Strategic Analysis
- Conduct market and company analyses to support IonQ’s strategy across compute, networking, and sensing.
- Help evaluate emerging quantum and adjacent technologies for strategic alignment.
You’d be a good fit with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in corporate development, finance, strategy, or operations at a high-growth company, venture fund, or investment bank.
- Strong analytical and modeling skills, with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex workstreams in parallel.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including board-level materials.
You'd be a great fit with:
- 2+ years of recent investment banking experience

Location: This position can work onsite or hybrid from one of our offices (College Park, MD, Bothell, WA) or fully remote in the US or Canada.

The approximate base salary range for this position is $108,438 - $141,407 USD. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.
Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. IonQ's HQ is located in College Park, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in Bothell, WA (near Seattle). Depending on the position, you may be required to be near one of our offices in College Park, Seattle, Toronto, Canada, and Basel, Switzerland.
