The Role:

We are looking for a Staff Product Marketing Manager, Quantum Networking & Security to lead go-to-market strategy for technically sophisticated product areas within IonQ Quantum Platform. Reporting to the Head of Product Marketing, Quantum Platform, this role will shape how IonQ’s quantum networking and security portfolio is understood in-market – translating complex technical capabilities into differentiated positioning, launch strategies, impactful revenue-driving narratives, and sales motions that accelerate market adoption, support pipeline growth, and strengthen IonQ’s position in emerging quantum markets.

This role operates at the intersection of product, engineering, sales, marketing, and leadership. You will help connect product strategy to market strategy, ensuring launches and messaging reflect a clear, credible, and effective narrative. You will lead positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategy, launches, and cross-functional alignment across Quantum Networking & Security, ensuring IonQ's portfolio is differentiated, commercially relevant, and positioned to drive adoption.

You will serve as a strategic market partner to product and engineering leadership – helping connect technical development decisions to customer needs, competitive dynamics, buyer behavior, and market opportunity. This includes influencing launch priorities, roadmap communication, and product strategy through customer insight, competitive intelligence, and market feedback.

This is a strategy and execution role on a highly effective team that uses AI-assisted workflows to accelerate production, improve consistency, and create more time for strategic work, customer insight, competitive analysis, and cross-functional influence. The right person is independently driven, deeply collaborative, customer-voice driven, and comfortable operating with autonomy in highly technical and evolving markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Own, define, and evolve the narrative, positioning, and messaging for Quantum Networking & Security products across customer segments and buyer personas – translating highly technical capabilities into customer-ready language that resonates with enterprise, government, telecom, infrastructure, and security-focused audiences.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy and launch execution across Quantum Networking & Security products, tailoring positioning, messaging, and customer engagement to distinct buyers, use cases, and competitive environments.
  • Partner closely with product management and technical leadership to influence launch prioritization and roadmap communication based on customer insight, competitive dynamics, and market opportunity.
  • Develop and maintain customer-facing and internal content, including messaging frameworks, thought leadership, web copy, sales enablement assets, case studies, and solution narratives.
  • Own and continuously evolve Quantum Networking & Security AI-enabled go-to-market systems, including domain-specific agents, knowledge repositories, competitive intelligence, and product information to power scalable content creation, sales enablement, and market intelligence.
  • Leverage AI-enabled workflows to accelerate content creation, competitive intelligence, launch execution, sales enablement, and customer-facing asset development while applying strategic judgment to ensure accuracy, quality, and market relevance.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, sales, corporate marketing, and enablement to ensure launches reinforce product authority, platform coherence, and market differentiation at every touchpoint.
  • Own competitive and market intelligence tracking competitors, market shifts, trends, and emerging category dynamics while translating into actionable insights for GTM team members.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring customer needs, buying behavior, market feedback, and competitive realities consistently influence GTM strategy, positioning, and product decisions.
  • Partner with sales enablement to support battle cards, objection handling, training materials, demos, and strategic deal support for complex enterprise and government opportunities.
  • Support the development of scalable product marketing processes, frameworks, and operational infrastructure as the Quantum Platform organization grows.

Requirements:

  • 6–10+ years of experience in B2B or B2G product marketing within technical industries such as cybersecurity, infrastructure, telecom, deep tech, quantum, or adjacent markets where buyers are sophisticated and sales cycles are complex.
  • Proven ownership of GTM strategy and launch execution. You have built launch plans, aligned stakeholders, driven positioning, and taken products to market – not just supported execution.
  • Working knowledge of quantum networking or quantum security concepts and the buyer landscape around them: enterprise security leadership, government program offices, critical infrastructure operators, or telco.
  • Exceptional writing and content development skills. You can translate highly technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives and create polished content across launches, thought leadership, web copy, customer-facing assets, and sales enablement materials for technical and executive audiences.
  • Confident presenter and communicator across internal and external audiences – including customers, partners, executives, and technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, and marketing organizations.
  • Strong commercial instincts and strategic thinking. You can synthesize complex technical input into commercially effective positioning, and understand how messaging, positioning, launches, and market insights connect to business outcomes.
  • Experience working in nascent, emerging, or rapidly evolving markets where category definitions, buyer understanding, and competitive dynamics are still developing.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or operationalizing AI-enabled workflows, knowledge systems, agents, or automation frameworks. Ability to structure product, customer, and market information in ways that improve output quality, consistency, and business value.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple strategic and executional workstreams simultaneously.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in fast-moving, ambiguous, and technically complex environments.
  • Energized by highly technical products, evolving markets, and the opportunity to help shape how new categories are understood and brought to market.

Success in This Role Looks Like:

  • Each product line has a clear positioning strategy, differentiated messaging, and a go-to-market motion tailored to its specific buyer, use case, competitive landscape, and purchase journey.
  • Multiple product roadmaps, launches, and GTM initiatives are successfully managed in parallel, with priorities aligned to market opportunity, customer demand, and business objectives.
  • Product launch decisions are consistently informed by customer insight, competitive intelligence, technical feasibility, and commercial impact.
  • Customer, market, and competitive insights regularly influence product strategy, launch planning, messaging evolution, and roadmap communication.
  • Product, engineering, sales, and marketing stakeholders view Product Marketing as a trusted strategic partner and consistently engage PMM early in product, launch, messaging, and go-to-market decisions.
  • Product, sales, engineering, and marketing teams operate from a shared understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and product value, with messaging and enablement assets consistently adopted across customer-facing teams.
  • AI agents and knowledge systems are trusted, widely adopted, and continuously improved, increasing team output, consistency, and speed.
  • Product launches are coordinated, strategically sequenced, and aligned to broader Quantum Platform priorities rather than executed as isolated events.
  • Competitive intelligence is operationalized, trusted, and actively used to shape positioning, sales strategy, and product decisions.
  • GTM motions are coordinated, scalable, and aligned across product lines rather than operating as disconnected initiatives.
  • AI-assisted workflows increase team output and consistency, allowing more time to be invested in customer relationships, strategic influence, competitive judgment, and market leadership.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
