
Senior Vice President, Finance, Global Strategy and Planning
Overview
The Senior Vice President (SVP), Finance, Global Strategy and Planning will be a key member of the Finance leadership team, reporting directly to the CFO. This individual will oversee global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) including Clinical, Commercial, Manufacturing, Supply Chain finance, and COGS strategy.
The SVP will act as a strategic advisor across the organization, integrating financial strategy with business execution. This leader will ensure robust financial management, drive forecasting accuracy, support global commercial performance, optimize operational cost structures, and provide critical insights to executive management and the Board of Directors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to drive financial strategy in support of company objectives, growth initiatives, and shareholder value creation.
- Lead long-range financial planning, scenario modeling, and enterprise risk management.
- Support public company activities including earnings preparation, investor relations input, and financial disclosures.
Commercial Finance
- Provide strategic financial guidance for global commercial operations across multiple product lines and regions.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Commercial Operations to drive forecasting, pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness, and ROI analysis.
- Lead launch planning and financial modeling for new products and indication expansions.
Manufacturing & Supply Chain Finance
- Oversee financial planning for internal and external manufacturing, global supply chain, and strategic sourcing.
- Develop product costing methodologies, inventory controls, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Partner with manufacturing and supply chain to evaluate capital investments and manage gross margin targets.
FP&A and Corporate Finance
- Lead the FP&A function, ensuring accurate financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Deliver timely and insightful dashboards and board materials to drive strategic decision-making.
- Optimize finance systems, tools, and processes to scale with the company’s growth.
Business Partnership & Decision Support
- Act as a strategic finance partner across global Commercial, Manufacturing, R&D and SG&A functions.
- Evaluate business development opportunities (M&A, partnerships, licensing) from a financial perspective.
- Support Board and Audit Committee reporting on relevant financial matters.
Leadership and Team Development
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global finance team.
- Foster a culture of financial discipline, innovation, accountability, and transparency.
- Serve as a key finance executive representing the company to external auditors, investors, and analysts, as needed.
- Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Travel
- Ability to travel to various sites (Philadelphia, San Carlos, Tampa) as needed.
Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with significant tenure in publicly traded biopharma companies.
- Demonstrated leadership of FP&A, commercial finance, and operations finance in a commercial-stage environment.
- Proven track record in managing financial planning in a dynamic, high-growth, regulated industry.
- Experience supporting commercial launches, global expansion, and manufacturing scale-up.
- Exceptional communication and executive presence; capable of engaging with Board, investors, and senior leaders.
- Strong systems orientation.
Physical Demands and Activities Required
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to move about inside an office and exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Must have visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, and extensive reading.
- This position requires repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
- Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information.

This job operates in a professional workplace or remote office environment and requires standard office equipment and keyboards. Employees who work remotely are expected to maintain their workspace and environment safely and free from safety hazards.
