COPYWRITER INTERN – Summer 2026 Internship
REPORTING TO: Associate/Creative Director
LOCATION: Atlanta or NYC
Do you see an ad and think, “I could have come up with a better idea than that.” Well here is your chance!
Hi, we’re Iris, and we’re in the market for a Copywriter intern for our Summer 2026 Internship Program. In the program you will continue to develop your skills as a creative, working alongside our team as they crack tough briefs with sharp concepts. You’ll be fully immersed in the day-to-day of agency life, knocking out copy for ultra-luxury sports cars one minute and figuring out the tone for a new hotel in the next. We want you to bring your weirdest thinking cap to write in both short-form (headlines, teasers, scripts, social) and long-form (scripts, collateral). As you work with our team, you’ll have the opportunity to help produce work for some world-class clients across a multitude of media.
Skills and Experience
- Currently pursuing or graduated with a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or other field
- Pursuing a career at an advertising/marketing agency, internal marketing department, or other relevant business
- Your portfolio demonstrates you know what a good idea looks like, and you are excited to keep learning how to concept and execute those ideas across traditional and digital platforms.
- Interest in developing and writing stand-out social content is a must
- The ability to write engaging, persuasive copy that speaks to key audience insights (and the desire to further hone in these skills)
- Proofreading skills (both spelling and grammar)
- Basic knowledge of common style guides and grammar/usage standards
- Self-motivated, decisive and doesn’t mind diving into the deep end
- Must have a book/portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and writing skills

About Iris
Participate or perish. It’s not just our rallying cry – it’s a creative imperative. Iris is the global creative micro-network built for brands that refuse to blend in. With 650 people across 11 offices, we help clients like Samsung, adidas, Bentley, California Pizza Kitchen, Beiersdorf and Samsonite show up in culture with work that stands apart. Powered by Participation, and brought to life across paid, earned and owned media, our agency model is big enough to be dangerous, small enough to stay agile. Founded outside the ad establishment in 1999, Iris has always been defined by its outsider mindset – one that still drives our mission today.
We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and recruit on talent alone, regardless of age, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, education, class, sexual orientation or disability. We champion diversity and believe it not only benefits, but enhances our creativity, our company and the wider society at large.
Compensation: $18/hour
