Job description
The On-Site Laboratory Technician plays a key role in supporting an active Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinical trial by ensuring timely and accurate processing of biological samples, maintaining laboratory compliance, and managing lab kit inventory. This role works closely with the clinical research and regulatory team to ensure high-quality sample handling and adherence to sponsor and protocol-specific requirements.
Responsibilities
- Process, centrifuge, and prepare biological samples per protocol (e.g., serum, plasma, stool, biopsies)
- Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and timely shipment of samples to central labs
- Maintain appropriate sample storage conditions (e.g., refrigeration, -20°C, -80°C as applicable)
- Monitor and replenish lab kit inventory
- Track and log kit usage, sample shipments, and processing logs per sponsor requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab processing area
- Adhere to GCP, IATA, and protocol-specific lab handling guidelines
- Assist clinical staff with troubleshooting lab-related questions or issues
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Work Schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 to 4:00.
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred)
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior management experience in a lab setting
- Prior experience in a clinical or lab research setting
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced research environment
- High attention to detail and compliance
- Phlebotomist license a plus
