ServiceNow Developer Role Overview
The ServiceNow Developer supports enterprise IT initiatives by designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow applications and integrations. The developer is responsible for delivering scalable and maintainable ServiceNow solutions that meet business needs, while also participating in Agile/Scrum development cycles and upholding platform standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow applications, custom modules, and platform integrations.

Customize and enhance core applications, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and CMDB.

Create and manage workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and automation tasks.

Integrate ServiceNow with third-party platforms using REST/SOAP APIs and MID Servers.

Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to define and refine technical requirements.

Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance analytics widgets to support business insights.

Conduct code reviews, perform unit testing, and ensure code quality, security, and documentation.

Maintain architectural documentation, including customizations and configurations.

Actively participate in Agile/Scrum sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences in both oral and written formats.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.

Proficient in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting best practices.

Experience with ITSM and at least one other module (e.g., ITOM, HRSD, SPM, Source2Pay).

Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative development practices.
-
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is required.

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) preferred.
Desired Skills
-
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS-ITSM, HRSD, Discovery).

Experience using Automated Test Framework (ATF).

Exposure to ServiceNow App Engine and Flow Designer.

Working knowledge of CMDB and Discovery processes.

Experience developing for the Employee Service Portal, including custom widget creation.
