We have been named a Great Place to Work for six years, and offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

Itero Group is seeking an experienced, hands-on Scrum Master II to support a software development team within a large-scale federal healthcare program. The ideal candidate will bring a practical understanding of Agile methodologies, strong facilitation and delivery coordination skills, and the ability to support a technical team operating within established sprint cycles and quarterly release schedules.

This role requires someone who understands how to apply Agile principles to drive results rather than simply following processes. The Scrum Master will work closely with developers, business analysts, technical leadership, and the Product Owner to remove impediments, maintain delivery momentum, and promote continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

  • Support a cross-functional software development team operating in three-week sprints with quarterly release commitments.

  • Identify and remove impediments, manage dependencies, and help ensure sprint goals and delivery milestones are achieved.

  • Partner with the Product Owner, technical lead, developers, and business analysts to coordinate priorities, activities, and deliverables.

  • Track sprint progress, risks, dependencies, and team performance using Jira dashboards, metrics, and reporting tools.

  • Coordinate system demonstrations, including preparation, stakeholder communication, and execution.

  • Analyze Agile metrics and identify opportunities to improve team productivity, accountability, and delivery performance.

  • Support project coordination, status reporting, and administrative activities to maintain visibility into team progress.

  • Apply Agile and Scaled Agile practices within a structured delivery environment, balancing flexibility with established release requirements.

  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and PMO leadership to establish consistent Agile practices, reporting standards, and delivery processes.

  • Promote team collaboration, ownership, continuous improvement, and effective communication across technical and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Scrum Master supporting software development teams in an Agile environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of Scrum, Agile methodologies, and Scaled Agile concepts.

  • Experience supporting teams operating within fixed release schedules, enterprise delivery environments, or hybrid Agile frameworks.

  • Proven ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove obstacles, and support successful sprint execution.

  • Hands-on experience with Jira, including sprint tracking, backlog management, dashboards, metrics, and reporting.

  • Experience analyzing team performance metrics, identifying delivery risks, and communicating progress to stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational, facilitation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.

  • Practical, results-oriented approach to Agile delivery with the ability to adapt processes to meet team and program needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal government or healthcare technology programs.

  • Familiarity with CMS, Medicare, healthcare claims processing, or medical policy systems.

  • Experience supporting mainframe, legacy application development, or enterprise modernization initiatives.

  • Exposure to batch processing systems and complex enterprise application environments.

  • Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO) or supporting Agile process standardization across multiple teams.

  • Background in project coordination, delivery reporting, or traditional project management activities.

Technical Environment

The Scrum Master will support a software development team responsible for enterprise applications and legacy systems within a federal healthcare environment. The team operates in three-week sprint cycles with established quarterly releases.

While deep technical development or mainframe expertise is not required, candidates should be comfortable collaborating with technical teams, understanding development activities at a high level, identifying dependencies, and coordinating delivery timelines.

Agile certifications are not required. Relevant hands-on experience, sound judgment, adaptability, and demonstrated success supporting software delivery are the primary considerations.
