Position Overview 

ITS has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Operations Manager at our fast-growing Whitestown, IN distribution center.  This position reports to the Campus General Manager and is responsible for leading the execution of all daily operational activities for warehouses within the Whitestown campus.  The selected candidate will collaborate extensively with all members of the operations leadership team, customer care, continuous improvement, and sales to ensure that customer expectations are met, if not exceeded.  We are looking for a team-first professional with a proven history of developing the leaders and teams in their organization, removing operational roadblocks, implementing quantifiable process improvements, and serving as a steward of company culture and values.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Demand a best-in-class safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety related programs, foster and maintain a clean and highly functional warehouse in compliance with 5S standards
  • Oversee all daily warehouse activities, identifying constrains and challenges, and removing roadblocks from the operation to consistently achieve goals and maintain all KPIs
  • Maintain team structure and staffing levels to ensure peak operational performance
  • Develop and train supervisory staff and their subordinate teams, including thorough participation in the goal-setting process, annual reviews, policymaking, team building and succession planning, and disciplinary actions
  • Understand the division’s P&L and financial targets, execute an effective operational strategy to meet or exceed these expectations with an emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of key business systems and processes, ensure that a structured and organized approach to maintaining operational processes is sustained
  • Utilize various business tools, including WMS reporting and analytics, Power BI, and various operational dashboards to maintain a strong analytical understanding of daily operations
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, continuous improvement, client services, and peers to facilitate new business implementations, support rapid company growth, drive positive change within existing accounts, and proactively lead corrective action efforts when necessary
  • Understand and actively promote the company values and mission statement to achieve “Excellence in Everything We Do”

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated record of accomplishments in a warehousing/logistics culture with a focus on safety, reliability, and process improvement.  The candidate will have a strong work ethic and moral compass, value camaraderie and organizational development, and take pride in leading a dedicated team that regularly exceeds expectations.

Additional requirements include:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field, from an accredited institution, is preferred, equivalent experience is accepted
  • Five (5) + years of management experience warehousing, logistics or supply chain environment, with progressive career experience and experience managing other leaders strongly preferred
  • AIB experience preferred
  • Excellent leadership and strong interpersonal skills. A proven developer of talent, coach, and motivator, with a strong team and customer service orientation.
  • A “make-it-happen” mindset – a leader who is driven, adaptable, innovative, and who possesses a keen sense of urgency and the ability to effectively prioritize their day
  • Multi-departmental warehouse knowledge, including receiving, picking, shipping, inventory management, reverse logistics, dock coordination, reporting/KPIs, and customer service – ideally within a multi-client warehousing operation
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Continuous process improvement and basic project management experience
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Solid skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with WMS systems, warehouse technology, and industry terminology and best practices
