HVAC Lead Technician
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The HVAC Lead Technician responsibility is to provide technical support/coaching for all techs over the phone and on site as needed, provide high-quality heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration services to commercial and Industrial customers using expertise in HVAC systems and troubleshooting. With an attention to Coaching a team of HVACR Technician’s.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead larger projects and supervise HVAC Technicians as needed
- Assist management with estimates as needed by conducting site visits and gathering adequate information as directed by management and/or customers regarding labor, materials, and equipment needs and field Quality control.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residential, commercial, and/or industrial customers
- Troubleshoot and diagnose more complex HVACR problems and recommend best course of action
- Proactively inspect HVACR systems to identify possible deficiencies or suggest remedial/preventative actions
- Perform service, maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial and residential HVACR systems, including split systems, chillers, packaged units, oil- and gas-fired boilers and control systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance service for contract customers including required documentation and testing as noted in each specific contract.
- Work with tablet-based service ticket software system, email and other programs (PDF editor, Google Drive, etc.)
- Perform service, maintenance, repair, and installation of restaurant HVAC equipment, cold storage facilities, distribution companies, and more
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and vehicle
- Maintain compliance with and knowledge of local HVACR codes, regulations, and safety requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to lift, carry, and/or push a minimum of 75lbs unassisted regularly and up to 100lbs unassisted occasionally
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work overtime as needed and be part of a scheduled on-call rotation
- EPA Certification
- OSHA 10 (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
Education/Experience:
- 5 years of service HVACR experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience leading teams and/or projects
- Ability to work as a team player
- Verbal & written communication skills
- Attention to detail and organization
