
Accounting Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to take ownership of Jaris’ corporate and fund accounting operations. This role will be the cornerstone of our financial infrastructure—leading everything from daily journal entries to fund valuations—while also playing a strategic role in capital markets, treasury, and vendor management. Responsibilities:
Accounting
- Own 100% of Jaris’ corporate and fund accounting
- Prepare all journal entries in NetSuite
- Lead month-end close: balance sheet reconciliations, consolidations of subsidiaries, and variance analysis
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Drive process improvements and propose automation for efficiency
- Manage compliance deliverables, including quarterly tax filings, insurance renewals, and financial statement audits
Capital Markets
- Use proprietary automation tools to facilitate monthly loan purchases from our partner bank
- Monitor fund capacity and optimize yield in the levered Credit Fund
Treasury
- Balance corporate liquidity needs with return optimization on deposits
- Track and manage funding capacity across multiple products (lending, instant payouts, etc.)
Vendor Management
- Conduct due diligence on all new vendors
- Track, manage, and negotiate contract expirations and renewals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Licensed CPA
- 4–6 years of experience in accounting or Big 4 audit/assurance
- Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)
- Strong command of financial statements
- Attention to detail, inquisitive, analytical, problem solver, self starter, communicative
- Eagerness and creativity to build structure around loosely defined projects
- Resilience to work through start-up challenges when clean and/or complete information is not available
- Ability to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
- This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work four days per week, with one day remote
Nice to Have:
- Experience with fintech, payments, alternative lending, and/or fund accounting
- Experience with NetSuite
- Basic knowledge of Python and SQL for quantitative analyses and workflow automation
Applicants located in the San Francisco Bay Area can expect an annual base compensation in the range of $140,000 to $160,000 USD. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Jaris and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
