The Business Development Manager improves Jencap's market position and achieves financial growth of the organization. The Business Development Manager is responsible for prospecting for new clients as well as growing and retaining existing clients within a designated territory. They work closely with underwriting staff to recommend, review, and evaluate client opportunities to accomplish individual and overall corporate production goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop pipeline of new business clients using prospecting and networking skills
- Liaison between the customer, the independent insurance agent and Jencap’s underwriters and brokers to maintain and grow book of business
- Maintain high level of service to existing clients by coordinating with underwriting staff and brokers to meet ongoing needs
- Provide support to territory underwriting offices by attending trade shows and other industry functions to promote brand and generate new business
- Initiates contact and sets up appointments with current contracted agencies as well as prospecting to develop additional agency contacts
- Significant travel time required for various reasons including but not limited to conventions, trade shows, and agency visits
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or affiliated field preferred
- 4-7 years of proven increasing responsibility in P&C insurance sales/marketing experience
- Insurance designation, such as CIC or AII, a plus
- Strong Property & Casualty insurance background
- Proven interpersonal skills in order to collaborate and effectively build and maintain partnerships with clients, prospects, and people at all levels within the organization
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Solid time management skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize schedule and multi-task in order to meet business objectives
- Strong computer skills and ability to navigate independently through multiple systems
- Proven ability to be solution oriented, results oriented, diplomatic and creative
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded. Jencap also offers a range of benefits and programs, based on eligibility, which currently include but are not limited to; comprehensive health care coverage, a 401k plan, and tuition reimbursement.
