The Renewal Underwriting Manager plays a pivotal role in our organization, providing leadership and guidance to ensure the continued success of our renewal underwriting team. The Renewal Underwriting Manager will work from our Atlanta, GA office.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership Excellence: Lead and inspire the renewal underwriting team to excel in productivity, workflow, and quality, both internally and externally.
- Team Development: Provide ongoing performance management, feedback, coaching, development, and mentorship to direct reports.
- Performance Assessment: Develop monthly service assessments and benchmark the team's performance. Conduct annual performance evaluations and communicate performance goals in a timely manner.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain quality metrics to ensure accuracy and retention of the renewal book. Recommend enhancements or new measures to sustain quality and service standards.
- Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between management, underwriting staff, and the renewal underwriting team to assess staff needs, skills, and opportunities. Foster positive working relationships and communication.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 4-6 years of direct renewal underwriting experience in binding operations or carrier underwriting in commercial P&C operations.
- 5+ years of experience in underwriting team leadership or management within commercial P&C operations.
- Demonstrated history of supporting, mentoring, or coaching team members and participating in strategic project implementation support initiatives.
