Job/Role Description
Phamily (by Jaan Health) is redefining how specialty medical groups deliver care between visits—using AI and care management workflows to improve patient outcomes while generating sustainable revenue for providers. We’re hiring a Business Development Specialist to help us grow within specialty practices like oncology, cardiology, nephrology, and more.
This is not a typical BDR role. You won’t just be booking meetings, you’ll be helping clinical and operational leaders understand how to reduce staff burden, manage chronic patient populations effectively, and unlock new revenue streams. Operating with a 90% execution and 10% strategy split, you’ll be at the front line of Phamily's growth, directly impacting how specialty providers adopt new care models. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to leadership and a clear impact on company growth. If you are a disciplined "hunter" ready to influence the future of healthcare, this is the place for you.
At Phamily, some roles remain open on an ongoing basis as we continue to scale and prepare for future growth. This is an evergreen opportunity, meaning we proactively connect with exceptional talent before specific hiring needs arise so we can move thoughtfully and efficiently as new business needs emerge.
While applying to an evergreen role does not guarantee an immediate interview, every application is carefully reviewed by our recruiting team against both current and anticipated hiring priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Convert high-intent leads into qualified meetings through thoughtful, multi-channel outreach.
- Confidently navigate gatekeepers to reach clinical and operational decision-makers.
- Personalize messaging based on specific specialty workflows and real clinical challenges.
- Partner with AEs and Marketing to refine targeting and improve conversion metrics.
- Research accounts and build structured outreach strategies, avoiding "spray-and-pray" tactics.
- Use HubSpot and AI tools to scale outreach while maintaining a high-quality human touch.
- Continuously test, learn, and iterate on your approach based on performance data.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of sales activities to ensure seamless account handoffs.
Requirements:
- 1–3+ years in B2B sales, business development, or a similar performance-driven role.
- High comfort level with cold calling, persistence, and managing long-cycle follow-ups.
- Strong communicator with the executive presence to engage healthcare stakeholders.
- Structured thinker who can prioritize, test, and iterate on sales playbooks.
- Tech-forward mindset, enthusiastic about using CRM and AI tools to improve efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
Preferred Requirements:
- Entrepreneurial DNA: A 'builder' mentality with the ability to operate effectively in high-ambiguity environments where processes may not be fully fleshed out.
- Prior experience in healthcare or medical sales (specifically Cardiology or Nephrology).
- Previous experience in a high-growth SaaS startup environment.
- Advanced proficiency in HubSpot or similar CRM sequencing tools.
Work Style & Logistics:
- You are required to be in-person at our NYC office at least 3 days per week.
- Occasional travel for the team to on-site or industry events may be required.
