Warehouse and Supply Chain Clerk 

 

Reports To: Supply Chain Manager 
Department: Warehouse / Logistics 
Location: Apopka, FL 
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

 

Position Summary 

The Warehouse and Supply Chain Clerk supports daily warehouse operations, inventory control, purchasing coordination, and materials logistics. This role ensures that materials, tools, and equipment are efficiently received, tracked, stored, and distributed to job sites and internal departments. The Clerk works closely with field operations, procurement, and accounting teams to maintain accurate inventory and streamline the supply chain process. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Warehouse Operations 

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage. 
  • Process materials into inventory management systems and label accordingly. 
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse in a clean, safe, and efficient manner. 
  • Pull and stage materials for technicians, installers, and job site deliveries. 
  • Track tool and equipment checkouts, ensuring accountability and timely returns. 
  • Coordinate material deliveries and pickups with vendors and field teams. 

Inventory & Supply Chain Management 

  • Maintain real-time inventory accuracy through regular counts and reconciliations. 
  • Monitor minimum stock levels and trigger reorders to avoid material shortages. 
  • Support the purchasing team with order tracking and supplier communication. 
  • Help identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and assist with disposition. 
  • Ensure accurate documentation of receipts, transfers, and returns. 

Administrative & Support 

  • Update purchase orders, delivery tickets, and packing slips in the ERP or accounting system. 
  • Reconcile inventory transactions with accounting to support accurate cost tracking. 
  • Support inter company transfers, warehouse audits, and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Maintain safety and compliance documentation for warehouse and fleet operations. 
  • Provide administrative support for logistics coordination and vendor management. 

Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred. 
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, inventory, or logistics operations. 
  • Experience with construction, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical supply chain preferred. 

Skills & Abilities 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and inventory management systems. 
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain). 
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments. 
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in warehouse conditions. 

Performance Indicators 

  • Inventory accuracy and order fulfillment rate. 
  • On-time delivery of materials to job sites. 
  • Reduction in material waste and loss. 
  • Accuracy of purchase order and receiving documentation. 
  • Compliance with safety and warehouse procedures.
