Role Overview

As an Interior Designer at Journey, you'll have the opportunity to learn by working across a diverse range of projects alongside a collaborative team, you'll build new skills, contribute to meaningful design work, and gain exposure to different stages of the creative process. 

We're looking for someone who's curious, thoughtful, and excited to grow. Bring fresh ideas, ask questions, share your perspective, and don't be afraid to challenge the expected. You'll collaborate with designers, strategists, clients, consultants, and fabricators to help develop design concepts and bring them to life with creativity, care, rigor, and attention to detail. 

Key Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following

  • Assist senior designers to conceptualize and develop design schemes for projects.  
  • Actively contribute to design and documentation of projects through all project phases under the direction of more senior members.  
  • Participate in client meetings and craft elaborate client presentations to communicate design concepts effectively.  
  • Conduct research on materials, products, and trends to inform design decisions.  
  • Create and produce detailed models and design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD under the direction of more senior members.  
  • Select and specify architectural finishes.  
  • Design, detail and specify custom FF&E. 
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.

Candidate Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Formal training eg. bachelor’s degree in interior design, B.Arch. or B.S in Architecture from an accredited school 
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate design experience in an architectural and/or interior design studio. 
  • Ability to work in Revit and Enscape.  AutoCAD knowledge is a plus  
  • Ability to model in 3DS Max, Rhino or Revit  
  • Proficiency in presentation software like Adobe Creative Suite, Google slides and Power Point 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with designers across the firm 

Desirable

  • Experience in hospitality interior design 

Contract Type: Full time, permanent contract

Location: Our Miami studio

We value regular in-person collaboration because we think it leads to the best creative work however hybrid working is available around project commitments.

Work Authorisation: For this particular opportunity we are only able to consider applications with pre-existing work authorisation for the US.

Interviews: Introductory calls and interviews are anticipated from w/c 12th October. We aim to run two rounds of interview for this role with various members of our project teams, time to visit the studio and opportunity to meet more people in person.

We follow pay transparency, meaning we publish a salary range for each role. The salary range is the full earning potential during someone’s time in a role. Salary offers are made within this range and based on your experience and parity with the strength of our existing team/s.

Salary Pay Range

$65,000 - $90,000 USD
