Role Purpose:

At Jumio, you will work for one of the market leaders in the global identity verification space, helping to make the digital world a safer place for everyone. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET II), you will develop innovative back-end software that delights our customers and expands the state of the art in this exciting domain.

T-Shaped Engineering Expectation:

In addition to your deep expertise in test automation and software quality, you will adopt a T-shaped engineering approach by contributing across the development lifecycle. This includes collaborating closely with development teams, understanding the architecture and design of the software, and ensuring that your test frameworks and scripts are robust and scalable. Your ability to integrate testing deeply into the development process will ensure the delivery of high-quality software that meets Jumio’s stringent standards.

Your work will enable higher accuracy in both our algorithmic models and the manual identity verification process. Example Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Design and implement test strategies, plans, and test cases based on project requirements.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand the architecture and design of the software.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects.
  • Continuously improve the testing processes, automation, and tools.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members on testing best practices.

Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 1+ years relevant work experience.
  • Experience in unit testing, acceptance testing, integration testing, system/end-to-end testing for Web applications / REST services.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries and exposure to MySQL DB, Mongo DB (good to have).
  • Minimum 1+ years experience with Python.
  • Experience with Python testing frameworks and tools such as PyTest, unittest, and Selenium.
  • Ideally some experience with Docker, AWS, and REST API testing using Python libraries like requests.
  • Comfortable usage of UNIX-like operating system and basic bash scripting knowledge.
  • Understands aspects of Agile methodology in terms of Product Quality, Requirement.
  • Enjoy working in a self-organizing team environment.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Think further than the solution appears to require.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, and communication skills in spoken and written English.
  • Fast learner, high capacity for abstract thinking and structured approach to work plus a hands-on mentality and international mindset.
