
2025 Internship - Technical Writer/ Document Specialist Intern

Position: Jr Document Specialist (Technical Writer Intern)
Reports to: Director, Training & Documentation
Location: Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of software documentation
- Work closely with senior writers to gather information and ensure accuracy in technical materials.
- Assist in formatting and layout of technical materials to create visually appealing and user-friendly documents.
- Create and edit technical documents, including user manuals.
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in all technical documentation.
- Support the documentation needs of various projects.
- Assist in developing training materials, including user guides, manuals, knowledge base articles, and video tutorials for Juvare products.
- Update and refine existing training documentation to ensure alignment with product updates and new features.
- Help improve training materials by incorporating screenshots, step-by-step instructions, and best practices.
- Ensure training resources align with product updates, new features, and industry standards.
Sample Tasks:
- Review eICS/EMR/EMT Help Centers for spelling, formatting, and style issues
- Research and draft content for some (less complicated) Crisis Track modules
- Create Clueso videos to accompany releases or Help Center content
- Work in MadCap Flare to fix list formatting across help systems and apply accessibility standards to topics across help systems
- Take screenshots to supplement documentation
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical writing and proofreading experience
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, or version control is a plus.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms is a bonus.
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- Experience with Windows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and applications
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Desire to understand the emergency management mission and how our software supports improvement.
- Collaborative mindset in a matrix organizational structure.
